Experteer Overview
As a Staff Backend Developer on the Engine team, you help shape the Recipe runtime and distributed backend that powers Workato’s real-time orchestration at scale. You will contribute to architecture, build and troubleshoot heterogeneous Ruby and Go systems, and ensure performance, resilience, and data integrity. You’ll collaborate across teams to drive improvements and lead technical initiatives. This role offers impact in a fast-growing platform that unifies data, apps, and processes with enterprise-grade security and automation.

Compensaciones / Incentivos
• Contribute to architecture and design of distributed applications with performance and resilience in mind
• Build, extend, troubleshoot, and fix complex Ruby and Go applications and microservices
• Write well-designed, testable, efficient code in Ruby and Go
• Integrate data storage solutions (Postgres, S3, Redis, Kafka, ClickHouse, etc.)
• Contribute in all phases of the development lifecycle and perform code reviews
• Provide technical leadership and collaborate with other teams on shared projects




• Evaluate and propose improvements to existing systems and identify bottlenecks and bugs
• Maintain code quality, organization, and automation

Responsabilidades
• 7+ years of experience building scalable distributed backend applications
• Strong understanding of distributed systems patterns and algorithms
• Solid knowledge of databases, load balancers, application servers, message brokers, caching, monitoring
• Excellent understanding of network protocols and stacks
• Experience with DB technologies (classic and no-SQL)
• Multilingual programming experience (Ruby, Go; Rust is a plus)
• Basic understanding of cloud deployments (K8s, Terraform, ArgoCD)
• Experience with public cloud providers (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
• Excellent debugging, analytical and problem-solving skills
• BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering or related field with 7+ years of experience
