ppThe Manager of Structural Geotechnical Engineering will be based in Madrid, Spain and reports to the Sr. Manager of Engineering. /p pJoin Nextpower, a leading company in the energy transition, providing intelligent solar tracker and control software solutions for utility‑scale solar power plants. /p h3Responsibilities /h3 ul liLead and manage the teams of structural, geotechnical and operations engineering, providing guidance, support, mentorship, and fostering professional development. /li liOversee the structural and civil engineering design process for utility‑scale solar tracker projects, ensuring technical excellence and compliance. /li liSupervise the development of tracker layouts, foundation calculations, mechanical sets, and full civil construction plan sets. /li liPerform and review complex structural analysis and foundation design to optimize tracker placement and performance based on specific site conditions. /li liLead value engineering exercises combining structural and geotechnical criteria to lower costs and maximize efficiency on an individual project basis. /li liEnsure all civil and structural designs strictly adhere to Eurocodes and other relevant local and international engineering standards. /li liCoordinate with regional management and cross‑functional teams to implement new product standards, design modifications, and department‑wide initiatives. /li liSet team processes, workload prioritizing, tasking protocols, and develop new Key Performance Indicator (KPI) metrics for team efficiency. /li liSupport direct reports with continuous technical training, resource allocation, and conflict resolution.
/li /ul h3Qualifications and Experience /h3 ul liMSc in Civil Engineering (Ingeniería de Caminos, Canales y Puertos or equivalent Master’s degree). /li liFluent in English and Spanish (written and spoken). /li liProven experience managing and leading engineering teams, with strong leadership and conflict‑resolution skills. /li li7–10 years of professional background with relevant work experience in the solar utility‑scale industry. /li liAdvanced technical expertise in structural analysis software and foundation calculation tools. /li liDeep, comprehensive knowledge of Eurocodes and international civil design regulations. /li liExcellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong ability to translate complex technical concepts to internal teams and external stakeholders/customers. /li liProficiency in engineering tools such as AutoCAD, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and standard structural frameworks. /li liStrong organizational skills and the ability to thrive and make decisions in a fast‑paced environment. /li liSelf‑motivated team player with a problem‑solving mindset. /li /ul h3Preferred Experience /h3 ul liExperience with programming languages applied to engineering automation (e.g., Python). /li liKnowledge of advanced geotechnical analysis or data visualization tools (e.g., PowerBI). /li /ul pNextpower is an Equal Opportunity Employer and employment selection decisions are based on merit, qualifications, and abilities.
