Job Title:
Community Specialist

Location : Location:
ES-

Overview:

Key Objectives of the Role

Yugo is the first global student housing brand and operator created to address the needs of students and support them through university life and beyond. With a footprint in 14 countries, 280+ properties and 160,000 student beds our promise is simple: ‘Live Your Best Life’. It’s our integral commitment and offering to helping students flourish: personally, professionally, and socially, through the place that they live.

We do this through three pillars:

YuPro – Equipping students with careers skills, networks, and opportunities.

YuGrow – Supporting personal development, wellbeing, and self-discovery.

YugoEco – Connecting students to something bigger, through sustainability and social impact.

Because learning well and living well are inseparable. And when you put students first, really first, you create an environment where students thrive, not only build occupancy, but a lifelong brand affinity that travels with students beyond graduation.

In 2025, Yugo became the exclusive student housing operating partner of Visa Cash App Racing Bulls (“VCARB”) Formula One™ Team, providing students unparalleled access to unique opportunities and experiences worldwide.

The Community Specialist is the voice of Yugo in the comments and DMs — the person who makes our brand feel like a friend, not a corporation. You'll build genuine relationships with students across our channels, spot culture as it happens, and turn our community into our biggest content engine. Working across our European markets, you'll bring energy, cultural fluency, and a peer's instinct for what students actually care about.

This role sits at the heart of how Yugo shows up day to day.

We're looking for someone chronically online in the best way, fluent in Gen Z culture, calm under pressure,

and genuinely excited to build community.

Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities

1. Live in the comments and DMs across Yugo's global and regional accounts, replying and reacting in a voice that sounds like a friend, not a brand.
2. Own community management across our regions — UK, Ireland, Spain, France, Italy and Germany — engaging in a voice that sounds like a friend, not a brand.
3. Spot culture early — trends, sounds, formats, in-jokes — and feed it directly into the content team's idea bank.
4. Source and build relationships with student creators and UGC, turning fans into contributors and growing our pipeline of authentic content.
5. Go engage in the wild: interact with the accounts, creators, and communities our students already follow.
6. Moderate with judgment, keeping the community safe, on-brand, and drama-free.
7. Develop and share community and engagement best-practice — creating simple guidance and light-touch training for property teams and contributors so our voice stays consistent everywhere.
8. Flex to support content creation and scheduling for key or at-risk markets, partnering with the UK & Ireland Social Media Specialist where extra hands are needed (for example, France).
9. Track community health (saves, shares, replies, sentiment) and flag what's landing — not vanity follower counts.

What else?

This job description is a general guide to the role. You may be asked to take on additional responsibilities that naturally align with the scope of the position.

Qualifications:

Key Skills & Capabilities

- Community-first: You've run a brand, creator, or personal community that people genuinely follow, and you know how to make people feel seen.
- Fluent English in a casual, culturally-fluent register; a second or third market language (Spanish, French, German, or Italian) is a big plus.
- Culturally fluent: Chronically online in the best way — TikTok and Instagram are native languages, and you clock trends before they peak.
- Peer voice: You write short, dry, warm, lowercase-energy copy that never tries too hard.
- Sound judgment: Calm and considered when moderating or handling the occasional curveball DM.
- Flexible and proactive: Happy to flex across markets, pick up content or scheduling support where needed, and move fast.
- Collaborative: A team player, even via Teams — you work well with regional leads, contributors, and the wider social team.

Experience and Knowledge

Essential:

- Minimum 3+ years of experience managing a brand, creator, or community presence, ideally for a youth, lifestyle, or culture brand.
- Fluent English, with excellent written communication.
- Deep, genuine understanding of student life and Gen Z culture across Europe.
- Hands-on knowledge of TikTok and Instagram as a creator and community manager, not just a user.
- Comfortable with tools such as Planable, Sprout Social, or community and UGC platforms (or quick to learn them).
- Based in Spain — with flexibility to work across markets and time zones.

Desirable:

- Fluency in Spanish, French, German, or Italian is desirable.
- Experience sourcing UGC or working with student creators and ambassadors.
- Basic content creation or scheduling skills to support key markets when needed.

Min:
EUR €30,000.00/Yr.

Max:
EUR €35,000.00/Yr.
