What’s the project?
Our client is a world-renowned, family-owned leader in the fragrance, flavor, and ingredients industry with over 150 years of history and an active footprint in 41 countries. Operating across dozens of R&D; centers and production sites globally, they sit right at the crossroads of bioengineering, sensory art, and deep tech.
To stay at the forefront of their sector, they are expanding their newly established AI Center of Excellence right here in Barcelona. The goal is to bring cutting-edge AI and data-driven solutions directly into formulation, R&D;, supply chain, and integral operations. You will be jumping in at a pivotal moment to help build and scale products that turn complex data into real-world business impact across their global ecosystem.
And your role in this?
As a Junior AI Project & Product Manager, you will serve as the connective tissue between a high-velocity AI engineering team and global business stakeholders. Reporting directly to the Program Director for Digital Transformation, this role is built to give you real ownership while providing top-tier mentorship.
You will help translate real business problems into technical concepts, keeping projects moving smoothly from initial prototype to full-scale deployment.
More specifically, you will:
- Act as the main interface between business teams (R&D;, supply chain, marketing) and AI engineering to align on goals and requirements.
- Assist in managing the project cadence, supporting sprint planning, backlogs, and tracking timelines from PoC to production.
- Help shield core engineering and data science teams from scope creep and ad-hoc requests.
- Directly lead and coordinate smaller AI use cases and digital initiatives as you build experience within the organization.
- Flag potential risks early, track cross-functional progress, and maintain smooth communication across international teams.
Ok, what should you bring?
We are looking for someone curious, adaptable, and eager to learn, who can comfortably converse with engineers and business leaders alike.
The Must-Haves:
- Experience: 0–2 years in project management, product support, data analytics, or digital transformation (strong internship experience counts!).
- Education: Master's degree or higher in Computer Science, Data Science, AI, Bioengineering, or a related technical field.
- Technical Fluency: A solid foundational understanding of AI/ML concepts and data workflows.
- Languages: Professional fluency in English.
The Nice-to-Haves:
- Prior exposure to chemistry, bioengineering, formulation, or the FMCG/manufacturing industry.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum delivery methodologies.
- Knowledge of French or Spanish.
Is that it?
Here is a quick look at the overall context, setup, and workplace environment:
- The Challenge & Target: Navigating a global digital transformation within a deeply established heritage industry, managing cross-functional alignment, and scaling early-stage AI initiatives into reliable tools.
- The Salary & Package: Base salary ranging from €40,000 to €50,000 per year, a permanent contract from day one, meal vouchers, flexible compensation options (childcare vouchers, etc.), and comprehensive life and accident insurance.
- The Vibes: Human-centered, supportive, and balanced. Expect a strong focus on professional growth, shorter working days on Fridays, generous vacation time, and a collaborative hub in Glòries.
