Job Overview
Responsible for maintenance and repair of MODU electronic control and support systems, electronic components and component interface systems. Monitors all rig electronic systems operation and troubleshoots and repairs as necessary for operations. Implements and upholds safety and environmental compliance requirements. Provide technical support for electronic systems to ensure achievement of rig efficiency and client objectives. Provide specific focus on systems that will keep maintenance operations running effectively and avoid downtime. Assist the Technical Supervisor with effective maintenance procedures and ensure that the Noble Maintenance System is effectively utilized. Assist the Electrician and Subsea Engineer as directed by the Technical Supervisor to support on‑going operations.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Recognized trade qualification from technical college/apprenticeship.
- 10+ years of demonstrated or documented experience as an Electronics Technician on a MODU.
- Valid BOSIET CA EBS and Confined Space Training.
- Marshall Island Maintenance Supervisor license is required.
- 3+ years of experience working with IFS.
- Superior troubleshooting skills and techniques.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to coach, motivate and mentor others.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to understand and interact with diverse groups and operations and to recognize and resolve conflict.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Install, maintain and repair all electronic equipment onboard the rig.
- Ensure that all incomplete repairs and maintenance projects are finished in a safe manner, within the scheduled time frame, accurately,
and in an efficient manner to keep the backlog of work to a minimum.
- Ensure that equipment failure is kept to a minimum and within contractual limits.
- Ensure that entries on permits, isolation tags and logs accurately reflect the current status of equipment.
- Perform regular inspections of work sites and ensure the work is being done within the confines of the permit.
- Track all programmable logic controls and software versions and update as required.
- Maintain a high standard of housekeeping in all work areas.
- Maintain good two‑way communication with crew members.
- Participate in the development of newly appointed team members.
- Other duties as assigned.
- When working on DP semi‑submersibles, manage the maintenance system including creation, distribution, assignment and verification of planned corrective work orders within the Electronics Department.
- Advise others on modifications, changes to procedures, and/or frequencies that improve the Noble Maintenance System and comply with the Management of Change System.
- Participate in daily departmental meetings at each shift change to discuss and inform personnel of safety and general issues concerning the maintenance department.

- Implement and uphold Noble’s safety policies and procedures.
- Ensure that all operations proceed safely.
- Correct and notify responsible parties of any unsafe acts or conditions.
- Encourage and motivate personnel to observe safety and environmental policies and all intended and implied requirements of Noble’s Management System.
- Familiarize and adhere to Noble’s Live Safe Code for a zero‑incident and no‑harm workplace.
- Use Noble’s Hazard Identification Tool to manage risk from various energy sources.
- Attend and actively participate in daily pre‑tour and weekly safety meetings.
- Ensure compliance with requirements established in Noble’s Management System.
- Initiate a safety stand‑down when an unplanned hazard or change is observed.
- Perform all Safety Critical Tasks as detailed in the HSE Case.
- Incorporate the STOP the job planning process into all tasks, whether working alone or as part of a team.
- Take initiative to perform emergency duties without specific orders or instruction.
- Develop and implement Job Safety Analysis and prepare hazard assessments as required.
- Comply with all government regulations.
SUPERVISORY
- Directly supervise Electronic Technicians, Assistant Electronic Technicians, contractors and vendors.
- Indirectly supervise rig personnel.
