ppJob No: /p h3Position Summary /h3 pThe department seeks qualified candidates to teach undergraduate courses such as: /p ul liCSci 1 (Critical Thinking and Computer Science) /li liCSci 39 (Computer Science Principles) /li liCSci 40 (Introduction to Programming and Problem Solving) /li liCSci 41 (Introduction to Data Structures) /li liCSci 60 (Foundations of Computer Science) /li liCSci 80 (Introduction to Computer Systems) /li liOther classes identified as needed to fulfill educational goals of current students /li /ul h3Instructor Responsibilities /h3 ul liAdhere to and implement university and system-wide policies per Academic Policy Manual 306. /li liPrepare, deliver, conduct, proctor, and grade lectures, office hours, homework assignments, quizzes, class projects, midterm and final exams. /li liEnsure all classes are offered and meet as scheduled throughout the semester in the assigned mode (asynchronous, synchronous, in-person, or hybrid). /li /ul h3Conditional Appointment /h3 pAppointments are contingent on budget and enrollment considerations and subject to the order of assignment provisions in the collective bargaining agreement. New lecturer appointees are assigned after senior faculty. /p pAppointees must demonstrate eligibility to work in the United States. California State University, Fresno does not sponsor Temporary Faculty for work visas. /p h3Compensation /h3 pCommensurate with qualifications and experience within the salary range. Salaries are based on the CSU Salary Schedule (Class Code = 2358). For a full‑time load (15 WTUs), the monthly range for a Master’s degree holder is $5,507–$6,677, with starting salaries usually at or near the minimum. Adjustments are made based on WTUs assigned per term. /p h3Anticipated Semester /h3 pThe temporary faculty pool is continuously open and positions are filled as needed.
The pool is available for two academic terms; applicants wishing to remain beyond that must reapply. /p ul liFall 2026: August 19, 2026 – December 22, 2026 /li liSpring 2027: January 15, 2027 – May 26, 2027 /li /ul h3Required Qualifications /h3 ul liEducation: Master’s degree in Computer Science from an accredited institution or foreign equivalent. /li liExperience: Demonstrated commitment to working effectively with faculty, staff, and students from diverse ethnic, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds. /li /ul h3Preferred Qualifications /h3 ul liCommitment to teaching excellence at the undergraduate level, evidenced by prior teaching experience and evaluations. /li liSuccessful teaching experience at the undergraduate level. /li liExpertise in a closely related science or mathematics discipline. /li /ul h3Application Procedures /h3 pApplications are reviewed on a rolling basis as positions open.
