VHIR is seeking a Predoctoral researcher to work
within the Group of Biomedical Research in Gynaecology in order to
develop a project in translational research in the area of
endometrial cancer. This is a unique chance to contribute to
cutting-edge research in gynaecological diseases, specifically
focusing on endometrial cancer, in the context of personalised
medicine. A core component of the project will involve generating
and utilising patient-derived organoids (PDOs) as advanced in vitro
models of the disease. The selected candidate will be able to apply
for competitive grants for predoctoral positions, such as AECC
predoctoral, Doctorat industrial, iPFIS, AGAUR, etc. More

Main responsibilities and duties: Contribute to translational
research projects focused on endometriosis, including the molecular
characterisation of the disease and the development and application
of preclinical models. Collaborate across the research group's
projects by contributing to scientific discussions and providing
experimental support when needed. Participate in the general
scientific and organisational activities of the research group.
Support the Principal Investigator in project coordination and
laboratory management activities. Education and qualifications:
Required: Bachelor degree in Biology, or related fields. Master's
in Biomedicine or related fields. Strong academic record in both
bachelor's and master's studies. Authorship on scientific
publications (for PhD grant applications). Fluency in English.
Desirable: Certification or training in laboratory animal handling.
Experience and knowledge: Required: Previous experience in in an
academic or biomedical research laboratory. Passionate, proactive,
committed and with strong organisational skills. Desirable:
Previous experience working in women's health research. Experience
in the development of in vitro preclinical models (patient-derived
organoids). Prior laboratory experience with cell culture,




molecular biology (particularly proteomic techniques), or
bioinformatics and molecular data analysis is a strong advantage.
Hands-on experience in data analysis and related software (R,
Python, SPSS, ...). Experience in the development of in vivo models
(PDX) and preclinical studies. Labour conditions: Working hours :
Full-time (37,5 hours per week). Starting date : September, 2026.
Gross annual salary : Remuneration will be determined by
experience, skills and responsibilities and aligned with the
Collective Agreement pay scale. Contract type: Technical and
scientific activities contract linked to project activities. What
