This includes guaranteeing strategic evolution, operational excellence, security, cost optimisation, and resilience of infrastructure and database services, enabling the Hyperconnect modernisation programme and supporting Vodafone’s ambition for integral IoT leadership. The role also contributes to the adoption of AI-enabled infrastructure and operational capabilities, ensuring the platform can securely, reliably, and cost-effectively support intelligent, data-driven IoT services at global scale. /pulliContinue accelerating and enhancing our Platform as a Service for Vodafone customers on footprint. /liliLaunch service proposition in markets that are off Vodafone’s current footprint (US and France). /liliAddress long tail lower volume segment through digital self-service platform globally. /li /ulh3Responsibilities /h3ulliEngineering drive and operational excellence across the full lifecycle of infrastructure and database assets, ensuring reliability, scalability, security, and cost effectiveness. /liliProvide expert knowledge on cloud infrastructure and platforms,
to ensure our organisation achieves its goals for cloud adoption. /liliDesign, build, deliver, maintain, and improve infrastructure solutions which includes automation strategies such as Infrastructure-as-code, Configuration-as-code, Policy-as-code, release orchestration and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines, and collaborative ways of working (e.g. DevOps). /liliContribute to the adoption of AI-driven operational and optimisation practices, delivering measurable improvements in efficiency, reliability, and incident reduction. /liliOwn and optimise cloud and on-premises infrastructure, improving inventory visibility, resilience, and proactive cost management. /liliWork closely with the rest of the IoT Platform Engineering team, Product teams, Network engineering and Security teams to ensure seamless alignment and delivery. /liliManage supplier and partner relationships, ensuring getting the right support to achieve our business goals. /li /ulh3Who you are /h3ulliStrong hands‑on experience with AWS, designing and operating production cloud environments. /liliDeep understanding of IaaS, PaaS, scalable architectures, APIs, and microservices. /liliFamiliar with cloud provider frameworks (e.g. Well‑Architected) and architecture artifacts. /liliExperience with infrastructure-as-code and automation using Terraform, Packer. /liliProven use of CI/CD and DevOps tooling (e.g. Jenkins, GitHub/GitLab). /liliComfortable scripting and automating workflows using Python and shell scripting. /liliExperience with container platforms including Docker and Kubernetes (EKS preferred). /liliStrong knowledge of cloud networking, including VPCs, subnets, routing, security groups, NACLs, VPNs,
peering, transit gateways, and egress cost optimization. /liliExperience implementing cloud security controls, encryption, and key management services. /liliProven ability to design for resilience, including multi-AZ and multi-region architectures, backup and recovery. /liliComfortable supporting incident response, root cause analysis, and operational improvements. /liliUnderstanding of AI and machine‑learning concepts relevant to infrastructure and operations. /liliExcellent written, verbal, communication, and presentation skills with the ability to articulate new ideas and concepts to technical and non‑technical audiences. /liliExperience working on geographically distributed teams and interacting and managing stakeholders in multiple markets and verticals. /liliMaster’s or bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, a related field, or equivalent experience. /liliFive or more years of experience in IT infrastructure and database management, both on‑premises and in the cloud. /liliEquivalent hands‑on experience operating large‑scale, production cloud platforms is valued in lieu of formal certifications. /li /ulh3What's in it for you /h3ulliOn‑site work.
