The Head of Electrical Engineering is responsible for leading the technical and engineering activities related to Technical lead responsible for ensuring cross-project electrical system design (inter-array and export cables, on/offshore substations, grid code compliance, grid connection point regulation, etc.) for the different projects and early developments where we are involved, understanding the relevant regulation both at industry and local level. The Head of Electrical Engineering is responsible both for defining the electrical packages to be implemented in projects in early stage and to follow up projects in advance stages, finding best practices between projects and capture them at corporate level. The position will work with staff seconded into projects in the related technical electrical areas to ensure all of them meet the Company’s requirements and to continuously improve those projects and corporate activities to or above industry best practices, ensuring the cooperation and coordination to the distribution of the Lessons Learnt.

Main Accountabilities

Accountability for the technical analysis and definition of the electrical work package, including innovation, associated with the bids preparation/acquisitions/due diligence for projects including: grid connection code and agreement/works; onshore substation; onshore and offshore export cables; offshore substations; inter array cables and high voltage commissioning as well as providing key technical inputs to the transport, installation team and being responsible for the optimal design to ensure that the wind farms have the maximum competitiveness, reliability, quality and safety. In close collaboration with the procurement department, develops and ensures a solid relationship with key suppliers across the supply chain. Lead the team reporting to the role, ensuring that the function has the required capabilities, skills and capacity to deliver on its objectives, on time and on budget and that sufficient project team resource is applied to deliver the work, including when necessary,



sourcing and monitoring external contractors Definition and estimation of headcounts and levels for project’s construction in projects developments stages and creation and development of construction planning for the different projects and opportunities in early development stages Responsible for preparing, elaborating and providing all the specifications and technical documentation to allow Project's engagement and to evaluate the suppliers from a technical perspective, with the intention of guaranteeing the correct application, bidding, construction and operation, ensuring that the determining factors established by the Permitting, Environmental and other local requirements are met. Responsible for preparing technical documentation for tenders (RFPs), assess technical offers and monitor contractors for engineering studies during the contracts. Ensuring that electrical activities are in accordance with applicable standards (e.g. the Grid Code), legislation, ethics, and good practices across the offshore wind farms industry, tender requirements, regulatory aspects and project policies. Provide ongoing and continuous technical support and liaise with other areas of technical department and other departments, both at corporate level and at project level, as necessary across the project lifecycle to ensure the successful completion of the project Providing technical inputs to CAPEX economic modelling on the packages under responsibility, including schedules and contribute to the deliverables, preparation of bids/ acquisitions, the progress reports and presentations of the technical department Provide lessons learned on the projects and tools for standardization and industrialization for the electrical part. Identifying, assessing and ensuring implementation of a risk mitigation plan to determine mitigation actions & close out of risks for its area of responsibility Contribute to the development of synergies between the different offshore wind projects. Be responsible for objectives, resources and budget across the electrical functional family. Ensure best practices and lessons learnt are shared between the projects within Ocean Winds, leading the proactivity on LLs sessions.

Academic Background





Master’s degree in engineering, Electrical speciality is desirable.

Experience

-

- A minimum of 10 years’ experience within the power / energy sector with experience of working on electrical systems between 33kV and 400kV is essential.

- Direct experience in undertaking or managing electrical system design of offshore wind farms and/or transmission assets is essential.

- Good engagement and proven relation between different disciplines to develop projects. It is expected to have between 3-5 functional reports depending on the variable work load and the number of projects being managed at each time. You will be required to use your leadership skills including staff mentoring, development and empowering.

Other Information

- Knowledge of electrical system design/study/analysis processes and techniques is essential.

- Specific knowledge of the standards associated with electrical system design of grid connected power projects is required, including knowledge of key aspects of some of the countries regulatory regime such as the Grid Code is required.

- Direct experience and specific knowledge of the design, construction and commissioning of electrical transmission assets and offshore cables is essential.

- Knowledge of the European countries offshore transmission regulatory regime is desirable.

- Uncompromising champion and practitioner of Health and Safety. Working closely with the group’s HSE professionals in different jurisdictions and in line with best practice and H&S; Law.

- Strong analytical skills and commercial awareness

- Hands on approach, accountable, organised and able to prioritise, strong level of enthusiasm, proactiveness, flexibility and be capable of identifying issues and establishing suitable solutions

- Excellent communication skills including report writing and presentation and the ability to communicate technical issues effectively with clients, contractors and consultants

- Ability to work within approved budgets and under deadline pressure and deliver high quality results

- An understanding of the interfaces and complexity between the project's work packages is required.
