ph3Introduction to the vacant position: /h3 pThe Smart Nano-Bio-Devices Group is looking for a Predoctoral Researcher to develop a PhD project on the design and application of enzyme-powered nanomotors for the treatment of osteoarthritis and joint-related diseases. /p h3Main tasks and responsibilities: /h3 ul liSynthesis and functionalization of highly biocompatible, organic-based nanoparticles to serve as active delivery carriers for therapeutic molecules. /li liStudy of the enzyme-powered motion dynamics of the nanobots and their ability to navigate viscous biological barriers (such as synovial fluid). /li liIn vitro and in vivo studies on the efficacy of the developed nanobots for targeted delivery and tissue regeneration. /li liEvaluation of nanomotors internalization, tissue distribution, and overall biocompatibility. /li liImplementation of targeted delivery assays to evaluate the enhanced therapeutic efficacy of active motion versus passive diffusion. /li /ul h3Requirements for candidates: /h3 h3Essential: /h3 ul liDegree and Master's in any field related to chemistry, materials science, biology, nanotechnology, biomedical engineering, or similar. /li liMultidisciplinary qualifications and/or knowledge of nanoparticles and drug delivery systems (specific knowledge of enzyme catalysis and nanomotors will be a plus). /li liCompetencies and skills: Communication, teamwork and collaboration, commitment, proactivity, integrity, and critical/analytical thinking. /li liHigh level of English. /li /ul h3Advantageous: /h3 ul liExperience in nanomedicine, active matter, biomaterials, or 3D cell culture models. /li liExperience with in vivo imaging. /li /ul pWe value not only technical expertise but also the demonstration of core competencies such as Communication, Teamwork and Collaboration, Commitment, Proactivity, Integrity, and Critical and Analytical Thinking. /p h3We Offer: /h3 ul liNumber of available positions: 1 /li liStarting date: Sept-Oct 2026 /li liWorking conditions: Full time 3-year contract. /li /ul ul liMeasures to reconcile work and family life (parental leave, versátil schedule working hours, 23 working days of paid holidays, 9 leave days for personal matters, among others).
