ppWe are looking for a Legal Counsel - Spain to join our Barcelona office and become the legal subject matter expert for our Spanish operations. /p pReporting directly to the Chief Compliance Regulatory Affairs Director, you will provide practical legal advice across a wide range of commercial, corporate and operational matters affecting the Group's Spanish related business. Working closely with colleagues across Legal, Compliance and the wider business, you will help ensure our operations remain legally compliant while supporting commercial growth in one of our key regulated markets. /p pThis role is primarily focused on legal matters, with regular exposure to the regulatory environment in Spain. While previous experience within the Spanish online gambling sector is not essential, an understanding of highly regulated industries and the ability to work with regulatory bodies will be valued. /p pThis is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded lawyer who enjoys working autonomously, partnering with stakeholders across the business and becoming the trusted legal advisor for the Spanish market. /p h3What will you be doing? /h3 h3Legal Advisory /h3 ul liProvide day-to-day legal advice and guidance on commercial, corporate and operational matters relating to the Group's Spanish operations. /li liDraft, review and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements, including supplier, technology, marketing, partnership and service contracts. /li liAdvise internal stakeholders on legal risk while delivering commercially pragmatic solutions. /li liSupport corporate governance matters relating to the Group's Spanish entities. /li liAssist with strategic legal projects, including corporate restructurings, business initiatives and, where applicable, acquisitions or integrations. /li liManage relationships with external legal advisors where specialist advice is required, helping reduce reliance on external counsel wherever possible. /li /ul h3Regulatory Support /h3 ul liWork closely with the Chief Compliance Regulatory Affairs Officer on legal and regulatory matters affecting the Spanish market.
/li liMonitor legislative and regulatory developments and assess their impact on the business. /li liLiaise with regulatory authorities and external stakeholders where appropriate. /li liAssist with regulatory submissions, legal documentation and official communications as required. /li liCollaborate with the Compliance team to ensure legal advice supports the Group's regulatory obligations. /li /ul h3Cross-Functional Collaboration /h3 ul liPartner closely with Commercial, Product, Marketing, Operations, Finance and People teams to provide practical legal guidance. /li liBuild strong relationships with stakeholders across multiple jurisdictions. /li liContribute to the continuous improvement of legal processes, contract management and governance frameworks. /li liSupport wider Group legal initiatives when required. /li /ul h3Who are you? /h3 ul liQualified lawyer with a Law Degree and admission to a Spanish Bar Association. /li liProven experience in commercial, corporate or in-house legal practice. /li liStrong experience drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts. /li liExcellent understanding of Spanish commercial and corporate law. /li liExperience working within a highly regulated industry such as iGaming, fintech, banking, financial services, insurance, telecommunications or another regulated sector. /li liExperience engaging with regulatory authorities or supervisory bodies is highly desirable. /li liPrevious exposure to the Dirección General de Ordenación del Juego (DGOJ) or the Spanish online gambling regulatory framework would be considered a strong advantage. /li liExposure to corporate transactions, MA or corporate restructuring projects would be advantageous.
