ppThe Floating Foundations Engineer will provide support for the development of technical solutions for floating offshore foundations for wind turbines, from design to commissioning and operation, in respect to time, costs, safety, quality and interfaces. Working directly with the head of floating foundations, the engineer will support the definition of technical solutions by management of contracts with external suppliers, performing sizing estimates, preparation of tenders and technology monitoring, among others. /ppThis position will focus on the structural arrangements of different floating concepts taking into account weight and load minimization with industrialization in mind. A good understanding of floater modelling techniques from integrated load analysis (ILA) to structure assessment is expected. The engineer will provide support to projects on how to conduct ILA including mooring, by reviewing lessons learned, update employer requirements and perform spot-check analysis. /ppWorking from Corporate engineering team, the engineer will be involved with ongoing tender processes at early concept stage, but also providing technical support to pioneering operational floating wind farms from Ocean Winds, supporting the knowledge sharing between OW projects. The Floating Foundations Engineer will also provide support to all interfacing technical packages (Wind Turbines, Transport and Installation, Electrical, OM, etc.) and key external stakeholders such as the supply chain and regulatory bodies associated with the areas of responsibility. /ph3MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES /h3ulliDefine, in collaboration with other Technical Areas, floating foundations in early phase projects: type of foundations to be considered, suitability assessment, supply chain assessment, etc; /liliManage/support for the management of floating foundation structural design studies.
This may cover all the design phases from preliminary conceptual design to detailed design; /liliRisk assessment for floating foundations: review of available data, identify main risks and mitigation measures, etc. /liliPrepare/manage design inputs required for foundation design studies. Manage design interfaces with other technical packages (WTG, Electrical, TI, etc.) /liliPrepare required foundation inputs and documentation for tenders and bids, including risk assessment and risk mitigation measures, concept design description, etc; /liliReview structural arrangements and load assessments, considering minimization of total steel and fabrication cost. /liliParticipate to due diligence for MA projects, providing additional technical support as required; /liliSupport the Head of Floating for management of design, certification, fabrication, and commissioning of floating foundations and mooring related items in accordance with in-house engineering, QA, and HSSE procedures. /liliIdentify/propose potential cost reduction measures to ensure competitiveness; actively look for alternatives including innovation to reduce the costs. /li /ulh3ACADEMIC BACKGROUND /h3pMaster Degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical or Naval Architecture, although Aeronautics, Industrial, Electromechanical or comparable fields will also be considered. Other Master disciplines may be considered when backed-up by professional experien /ph3LANGUAGES /h3pFluent in English. Ability to read, write and speak other languages will be a plus.
/ph3PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE /h3ulli3+ years of experience in offshore wind industry, preferably on floating foundations; OR /lili3+ years of experience dealing with offshore floating foundations design and fabrication or equivalent structural analysis background in similar fields. /li /ulh3KNOWLEDGE /h3ulliKnowledge of technical standards and industry practice across the different disciplines associated with offshore floating foundations is desirable, preferably within the field of offshore wind; /liliSpecific knowledge about the structural design and fabrication processes is required; /liliKnowledge of project management processes and systems associated with the delivery of complex, multi-package construction projects is desirable; /liliAn understanding of the interfaces and interdependencies between the project's work packages is desirable; /liliAdvanced MS Office package user; /liliKnowledge of MS Project is a plus; /liliKnowledge of Python and/or Matlab is desirable. /li /ulh3SKILLS /h3ulliTeam player who is willing and able to work with others to solve problems and share knowledge. /liliCulturally aware with a high level of emotional intelligence to work effectively with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders. /liliProven ability to manage ambiguity and shape processes and systems. /liliProactive approach to optimizations and improvements. /liliAbility to communicate across all levels of the project team and to support (and manage where required) the relationship with external stakeholders. /liliA pro-active approach to project and contract management in order to identify risks and opportunities early and initiate appropriate actions. /liliDriven by an adventurous spirit and the opportunity to be at the forefront of an emerging market. /li /ul /p #J-18808-Ljbffr
