ph3About the role /h3 pGartner Analysts are industry thought leaders who create must‑have insights, market predictions, and best practices for a broad range of world‑leading organizations. As a Senior Director within Gartner’s Business and Technology Insights (BTI) group, you will establish yourself as a credible voice in the application security space at local, regional, and general levels. Utilizing exceptional research and analytical skills, you will produce pragmatic and provocative insights which Gartner clients consume and apply to propel their business toward key objectives. They are a trusted source of advice for clients, reinforcing Gartner’s value every day by engaging them via in‑person meetings, virtual meetings, sales support visits and Gartner conferences to discuss complex client challenges and offer appropriate recommendations. /p h3What you will do /h3 ul liCreate innovative, thought‑provoking, and highly leveraged “must‑have insights” content. /li liDevelop new insights and ideas through thought leadership and offer compelling, actionable approaches to client’s needs and requests that accelerate the client’s ability to act. /li liDevelop in‑depth analysis to identify the root cause of a client’s barriers or overall needs and reframe thinking to drive strategy forward. /li liDemonstrate thought leadership in establishing Insights positions across a team of analysts. /li liBring provocative, independent insights to Gartner leaders that can evolve the course of a research agenda. /li liResearch, analyze and predict market trends and shifts to provide clients and vendors with actionable insights. /li liProvide clients and prospects with actionable advice aligned to their designated content area via virtual or face‑to‑face interactions. /li liCreate and deliver high‑value presentation materials on and off stage for Gartner events, industry and professional association conferences, and client briefings. /li liSupport BTI and Sales: Provide sales support serving as voice of the market to help Insights teams create content and to drive engagement with clients to make progress against their critical priorities to grow their business. /li liProvide high quality and timely content peer review. /li liBuild credibility as an industry expert to represent Gartner insights, methodology and strategy. /li liActively participate in innovation, ideation, and research discussions and collaborate effectively with peers in the Insights community. /li liIdentify research process improvements or develop new processes that help the team and BTI provide excellent service delivery. /li liBe a mentor and a coach by supporting more junior team members.
/li liBe client‑centric while actively seeking to help clients engage regularly and often with Gartner insights and interactions. /li /ul h3Hot Topics of Discussion with Client CIOs and Heads of IT /h3 ul liHow to create a security compliance policy for Enterprise Application vendors to adhere to? /li liHow to create a risk assessment program to evaluate Enterprise Application vendors? /li liHow to develop metrics to measure success? /li liHow to create an application security policy that achieves an enterprise’s overall application and business strategies? /li liIdentifying strengths and weaknesses of the major application vendors (i.e., SAP, Salesforce, Workday and Oracle) security tools. /li liHave a good understanding of the capabilities of security tools from 3rd party vendors that are compatible with mega vendor applications which enable vulnerability identification. /li liHow to build and operate an application security vulnerability testing program. /li liAdvise on the Key Vulnerabilities and Attack Surfaces to Test for mega vendors. /li /ul h3What you will need /h3 ul liBachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; graduate degree preferred. /li li12+ years of relevant experience in application security, enterprise applications, or IT leadership. /li liExtensive knowledge in working with CIOs (or ‘Heads of IT’) and business leaders on developing application security strategies with delivering business value (i.e., performance metrics, decision authority between the business and application teams, relationship management with the business, etc.). /li liStrong familiarity with creating Enterprise Application Security Roadmaps and Performance Metrics preferred. /li liAn ability to articulate the role application security technology plays in delivering business value. /li liExperience in organizing and leading application security teams (i.e., location of work, roles responsibilities, operating model, organization design, evaluating application team performance, budget / finance, relationships with Enterprise Architect and PMO teams, etc.). /li liRemain ahead of the curve on developments and issues within these specified areas as well as applicable adjacent areas of artificial intelligence (AI) and generative AI.
