A job adapted to your career ambitions and in which you could have an impact for the years to come? /p pWe are looking for a Space Weather Engineer to work in Madrid, Spain. /p pThe idóneo candidate must have demonstrated experience in interpreting space weather data (nowcasts and/or forecasts) with strong competences to translate it into terms that are meaningful for the user community (aviation, satellite operators, grid operators etc.). /p h3About the mission /h3 pFor supporting the establishment and operation of a Space Weather Centre in Spain for affected stakeholders along with underpinning tools, capabilities and procedures required in order to deliver tailored high quality services to end users (operators of energy transmission systems, satellite operators, aviation sector, Ministry of Defence and others). The Centre is planned to operate in close cooperation with ESA’s Space weather Service Network with the aim to establish a node that facilitates collaborative actions with network participants while moving progressively towards a structure with a clear operational dimension able to support the development and delivery of tailored space weather capabilities and services. /p h3Tasks and activities /h3 ul liLiaising with different end users to capture their requirements and producing the proper specification of user data products. /li liDevelop the algorithms to adapt/tailor the existing products to the end user community, to generate the data products meeting the specification. /li liWork in future operations services. /li /ul h3Skills and experience /h3 pThe following skills and experience are mandatory:



/p ul liUniversity Degree or equivalent in the field of space engineering or relevant /li liAt least 5 yearf of experience in space weather activities including SW algorithms and data services. /li liMinimum 3 years of experience with running/providing operational services (e.g. onboarding, help desk, tickets etc.) /li liVery good understanding of types of SWE data products, and with capability of adapting these to other types of products that might be required by the end users. /li liWide knowledge of SWE products (forecast / nowcast), able to handle existing data products and generate new types of products using the required SW tools. /li liExperience in SW development, oriented to the production of scientific data /li liSolution oriented mindset, with a customer focused communication skill /li liFluent in English, both written and spoken /li /ul h3Why should you apply? /h3 ul liYou will have the opportunity to work within leading space organisations across Europe. /li liWe encourage everyone to think outside the box and to push the boundaries of traditional knowledge.
