In this System Architect role, you will lead the design and evolution of Workato’s platform architecture, shaping secure, scalable, and cost-conscious systems. You’ll make critical architectural decisions that affect performance, security, reliability, and modularity across the platform, while collaborating with cross-functional teams. The role combines hands-on coding in Golang with governing architecture and guiding migrations from legacy components. You’ll document decisions, drive zero-downtime strategies, and mentor engineers to raise architectural standards.

• Design microservices and platform features from concept to production-ready specs
• Create technical designs and proof-of-concepts in Golang
• Architect secure, fault-tolerant systems with automated failover and encryption
• Assess and plan replacements for legacy components
• Plan implementation phases, migrations, and feature deprecation timelines
• Review and approve architectural designs and provide detailed feedback
• Lead architecture review sessions and drive cross-team technical decisions
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Security, SRE and Infra teams to establish standards
• Lead threat modeling and drive consensus on platform initiatives




• Mentor engineers on architectural best practices and complex challenges
• Write ADRs, design docs, runbooks, and API specs
• Create system diagrams and research cross-solution approaches
• Design zero-downtime migration strategies and define acceptance criteria for changes

Responsabilidades
• 8+ years building scalable distributed systems
• 3+ years in System/Platform Architect roles
• Experience designing large microservice environments and monoliths
• Strong Golang coding skills (production-quality)
• Knowledge of Protocol Buffers, gRPC, WebSockets, Kafka, PostgreSQL (partitioning, replication, HA)
• Security u0026 authentication experience (OAuth 2.0/OIDC, JWT, mTLS, encryption)
• Infrastructure/Operations familiarity (Kubernetes, xqbhyrx Docker, CI/CD, Terraform)
• Distributed systems patterns (Saga, circuit breakers, retries)
• Experience with high-traffic systems (millions of requests per day)
• Excellent technical writing and cross-team communication
• Experience planning phased implementations and complex cross-team projects
• Track record with feature flags, gradual rollouts, and zero-downtime deployments
• Ability to mentor and create technical roadmaps
• Experience with AI-assisted workflows in system analysis
