ppThe Principal Scientist plays a pivotal role in advancing scientific research and guiding project execution. In addition to managing complex experiments and contributing to research strategy, he/she provides mentorship to Scientists and Laboratory Technicians, sharing expertise and supporting their development. His/her deep scientific knowledge and experience in CNS AAV gene therapy contribute to innovation, project continuity, and high-quality results. He/she fosters collaboration, promotes best practices, and helps create a positive, focused research environment. /p bThis position is a fixed-term role to provide maternity leave cover /b, ensuring continuity of scientific leadership, project delivery, and team support during the temporary absence of the substantive post holder. h3KEY RESPONSIBILITIES /h3 h3Experimental Design and Execution /h3 ul liDesigning and executing complex laboratory in vitro and in vivo experiments, following established protocols and procedures. Your expertise will contribute to the development of research methodologies, ensuring the highest standards of scientific rigor and accuracy /li liDesign and implement novel laboratory protocols /li liTaking responsibility for the successful planning, execution, and completion of research projects. You will coordinate efforts across interdisciplinary teams, set project milestones, and manage resources effectively to ensure timely delivery /li /ul h3Data Analysis, Conclusion, and Reportin g /h3 ul liApplying advanced statistical analysis methods and data visualization techniques to analyse and interpret experimental data /li liDrawing meaningful conclusions and communicating research findings effectively to internal and external stakeholders /li liProvide critical insights for the VP and Director of the department /li liAuthor high-impact reports,



publications /li liParticipate in project meetings and represent the CNS team when required /li /ul h3Collaboration and Project Support /h3 ul liAct as the scientific liaison between the VP-Pre Clinical and the laboratory team during the maternitypaternitity leave /li liProvide day-to-day scientific guidance to Scientists and Technicians in the CNS team /li liEnsure continuity of CNS pre-clinical activities and project execution /li liSupport experimental planning, data review, troubleshooting, and decision-makingPlay a key role in shaping the overall scientific strategy with the collaboration of others scientist, principal scientist and managers/directors /li liCollaborating with internal and external stakeholders, including academic researchers, industry partners, and regulatory bodies /li liBuilding and maintaining collaborative relationships to foster knowledge exchange, access additional expertise, and drive research collaborations /li liMonitor project timelines, identify risks, and help achieving milestones /li liStaying update with the latest scientific advancements and technological innovations in the field /li liLead scientific sessions and workshops /li /ul h3Training and Supervision /h3 ul liLead the training and development of technicians /li liMentor and guide junior and senior scientists /li /ul h3QUALIFICATIONS /h3 ul liPhD or relevant experience in a scientific discipline, preferred in Neuroscience, Gene Therapy, Molecular Biology, Virology,



or a related field /li liMinimum 5 years of experience in relevant biotech/pharmaceutical industry roles with extensive experience in CNS gene therapy /li liIn addition to familiarity in CNS research, a strong background in AAV-based gene therapy (AAV vector biology, functional assays, or related areas) /li /ul h3KEY COMPETENCIES /h3 ul liProven experience leading or coordinating multidisciplinary pre-clinical projects /li liHighly proficient in analyzing complex data independently, applying advanced techniques, and identifying patterns or insights /li liExcellent at managing multiple tasks and deadlines, demonstrating efficiency and prioritization and cross-functional interactions /li liStrong attention to details /li liStrong communication skills and ability to interact with internal stakeholders and external collaborators /li liStrong ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining a well-organized environment /li liExcellent scientific judgment and strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to address complex scientific challenges and propose innovative solutions /li liStrong ability to work effectively within a team, fostering collaboration and mentoring junior staff /li liFlexibility in adjusting to changing tasks, priorities, and research needs in a dynamic environment /li liStrong adaptability to fast-paced environment, matrix organizations /li liComfortable making scientific decisions independently while maintaining alignment with project objectives. /li /ul h3Why Joining Splice Bio? /h3 pAt Splice Bio, you will be part of a dynamic team dedicated to making a meaningful impact on the lives of patients.
