ppThe Barcelona Institute for Global Health (ISGlobal) is a cutting-edge institute addressing integral public health challenges through research, translation into policy and education. ISGlobal has a broad portfolio in communicable and non-communicable diseases including environmental and climate determinants, and applies a multidisciplinary scientific approach ranging from the molecular to the population level. Research is organized in five programs: Climate, Air Pollution, Nature and Urban Health; Environment and Health over the Lifecourse; Global Viral and Bacterial Infections; Malaria and Neglected Parasitic Diseases and Maternal Child and Reproductive Health. ISGlobal is accredited with the Severo Ochoa distinction, a seal of excellence of the Spanish Science Ministry. /p h3bWHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR /b /h3 pISGlobal is looking for a motivated and experienced research technician to support ongoing research activities within the Migrant Health Research Group. /p pThe Research Technician will contribute to the implementation of research activities related to migrant and refugee health, with a particular focus on qualitative research and evidence synthesis. The post holder will support qualitative data management and analysis, transcription and translation, scientific writing, and the preparation of manuscripts for publication. The Research Technician will also contribute to systematic reviews and other research activities conducted within the group. /p pThe position is intended to provide continued support to ongoing research projects and to contribute to the successful completion and dissemination of research outputs. /p h3bKEY RESPONSIBILITIES /b /h3 ul lipContribute to the implementation and completion of ongoing qualitative research studies in the field of migrant and refugee health. /p /li lipSupport the preparation of research outputs, including abstracts, presentations, reports, and scientific publications. /p /li lipContribute to systematic reviews and evidence synthesis activities, including literature searching, screening, data extraction, quality appraisal, synthesis, and manuscript preparation. /p /li lipContribute to research meetings, discussions, and dissemination activities within the Migrant Health Research Group and wider research consortium. /p /li lipEnsure that research activities and outputs meet appropriate standards of scientific quality and research integrity. /p /li /ul h3bSPECIFIC DUTIES /b /h3 ul lipConduct and/or support transcription and translation of qualitative interviews, focus group discussions, and other research materials.



/p /li lipDevelop and apply coding frameworks and contribute to qualitative data coding and thematic analysis. /p /li lipUse qualitative data analysis software, such as NVivo, to support data analysis and management. /p /li lipDraft, edit, and revise qualitative papers and research reports. /p /li lipContribute to systematic review activities, including database searching, title and abstract screening, full-text screening, data extraction, quality or risk-of-bias assessment, and evidence synthesis. /p /li lipParticipate in research team meetings and contribute to methodological and scientific discussions. /p /li lipCollaborate with researchers, project partners, and relevant stakeholders involved in migrant health research. /p /li lipUndertake other research-related activities relevant to the objectives of the research group and ongoing projects. /p /li /ul pbAUXILIAR TASKS /b /p pThis job description reflects the present requirements of the post but may evolve at any time in the future as duties and responsibilities change and/or develop providing there is appropriate consultation with the post-holder. /p pThis job description is not a definitive or exhaustive list of responsibilities but identifies the key responsibilities and tasks of the post holder. The post holder will respect, and be accountable to ensure ISGlobal policies and procedures. /p h3bTRAINING AND EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS /b /h3 ul lipPhD in Public Health, Global Health, Epidemiology, Social Sciences, Health Sciences, or a related discipline. /p /li lipDemonstrated experience in qualitative research methodology, including transcription, translation, coding, and thematic analysis.



/p /li lipExperience in qualitative data analysis software, preferably NVivo or equivalent. /p /li lipKnowledge of reference management software, such as Mendeley, EndNote, or Zotero. /p /li lipExperience contributing to systematic reviews and/or evidence synthesis. /p /li lipExperience in scientific writing and preparation of manuscripts for peer-reviewed publication. /p /li /ul h3bLANGUAGE LEVEL /b /h3 ul lipExcellent written and spoken English. /p /li lipProficiency in Arabic is highly desirable. /p /li lipKnowledge of Spanish is an advantage. /p /li lipAbility to conduct transcription and translation of research materials in Arabic and English is highly desirable. /p /li /ul h3bCONDITIONS /b /h3 ul lipContract: 2/3 months, part- time (22.5h per week) /p /li lipSalary: According to ISGlobal internal salary scale /p /li lipWork-Life Balance: 36 days off per year (23 vacation days + 13 personal days) /p /li lipStart date: August 2026 /p /li /ul h3bSELECTION PROCESS /b /h3 pThe selection process is designed in two phases:br/1- Interview phase of a technical nature, with the team that requires the incorporation. To assess the person's skills and CV.br/2 - Meeting with HR with the finalist(s) to finish assessing the profile and discuss contractual and institutional issues. /p pIf needed any technical test could be passed. A Psychological Competency Evaluation Test will be required for the structural or transversal positions. /p pIn accordance with the OTM-R principles, a gender-balanced recruitment panel is formed for every vacancy at the beginning of the process. After reviewing the content of the applications, the panel will start the interviews, with at least one technical and one administrative interview.
