The company is able to offer best-in-class launch services to commercial satellite operators, institutions, space agencies and national and international governmental entities. /p h3Mission /h3 pPLD Space is seeking a new member for our team to serve as Propulsion test engineer for MIURA 5 launch vehicle. The primary role of this position involves testing hardware from development, qualification, and acceptance for flight at both subsystem and component level. The Candidate will participate in the development and execution of testing activities oriented to accomplish the qualification and acceptance campaigns of engines and propulsive stages.
Testing activities will be mainly executed at PLD Space facilities in Elche (Spain) with some support required at PLD’s propulsion testing facilities (Teruel) upon demand. This role is for a hands‑on person. /p h3Responsibilities /h3 ul liUnderstanding of liquid rocket engine propulsion subsystems and components. /li liDeep understanding of test procedures, industry standards, and best practices. /li liKnowledge of safety principles and best practices while working with high pressure fluids and cryogenics. /li liIdentify the need for test campaigns regarding the validation of design solutions. /li liDesign of test campaigns and test hardware. /li liCollaborate with design and development of new propulsion testing tooling. /li liWrite test plans, test procedures, and maintain configuration management system. /li liPerform data analysis and prepare data reviews and performance reports to evaluate propulsion test facility performance. /li liPerform material characterization /li liWork with technicians in the field to prepare test articles prior to testing. /li liCoordinate with technicians to operate cryogenic facilities, fuel facilities and high‑pressure lines for engine testing. /li liPerform other duties as assigned. /li /ul h3Required Knowledge /h3 ul liBSc in Aerospace Engineering or Mechanical Engineering. /li liKnowledge and experience with sensors: gauges, thermocouples, transducers, accelerometers.
