You will help set technical direction and deliver resilient backend systems that help customers optimise liquidity, forecast cash flow, and automate treasury processes. /p h3What Treasury Management Does /h3 pTreasury Management helps companies optimise and automate how they manage cash. /p ul liLiquidity management: get visibility and control over cash using real-time balance and cash flow data /li liForecasting: help finance teams understand what their future cash position could look like (spend projections and cash flow forecasting) /li liAutomation: reduce manual finance work through transfer rules (automation and scheduling) and alerts /li liTreasury capabilities: deposits and parts of multi-currency money management /li liIntegrations dependencies: integrate with external providers and work closely with other Pleo teams to deliver end-to-end treasury capabilities, with correctness and reliability /li /ul h3What You’ll Be Doing /h3 ul liDrive initiatives to design, build, and maintain scalable backend services (we primarily use Kotlin)



/li liOwn and evolve service architecture, APIs, and data models in a financial domain with a high bar for correctness /li liBuild and maintain integrations with external providers that enable treasury capabilities (for example, deposits), and continuously improve reliability and how we run systems in production /li liCollaborate across teams to deliver end-to-end outcomes, and lead the technical part of cross-team initiatives /li liSet technical direction for key parts of the Treasury backend /li liAnalyse system performance and implement improvements to ensure high reliability and scalability /li liRaise our engineering bar for correctness through strong engineering practices: /li liCode reviews, incident follow-ups and post-mortems, and thoughtful ownership /li liSafe change management (backwards compatibility, feature flags, migrations, rollout plans) /li liResilient workflows (idempotency, reconciliation, safe retries) /li liProactively identify and reduce technical debt and help guide the team through technical challenges and migrations /li liSupport other engineers through pairing, reviews, and technical guidance /li liContribute hands‑on in code. You should expect to be coding a meaningful part of the time /li /ul h3You’ll Bring Solid Experience With /h3 ul liDesigning and maintaining backend systems, ideally in domains with strong requirements for correctness and reliability /li liObservability and owning systems in production (monitoring, alerting, incident response, post-mortems) /li liDistributed systems fundamentals (async workflows, consistency, idempotency, and designing for things going wrong in production) /li liAPI design, clear service boundaries,
