BSC-CNS is a founding and hosting member of the former European HPC infrastructure PRACE, and currently hosts the EuroHPC Joint Undertaking. The center integrates HPC services and research in computational science for life, earth, and engineering disciplines. It employs over 1,000 staff from 60 countries. /ph3Context And Mission /h3pWithin the BSC Earth Sciences Department, led by Prof. Francisco Doblas‑Reyes, the team develops advanced, high‑resolution global climate models to simulate and predict climate phenomena with unprecedented reliability. The Performance Team, a sub‑group of the Computational Earth Sciences section, conducts RD to identify and remove performance bottlenecks in Earth‑System Models, evaluating metrics and modifying code to improve computational and energy efficiency. /ph3Key Duties /h3ulliWork within an international, multidisciplinary research group. /liliImprove computational metrics for quantifying performance and energy consumption of climate models in projects such as Destination Earth, FUTURA, and ENES‑RISE.
