That’s the power of plus. /p /brh3Job Description /h3 /brpAre you passionate about building reliable, scalable platforms that empower engineering teams to deliver high-quality software? Do you enjoy working with cloud-native technologies, Kubernetes and observability solutions to solve complex technical challenges? /p /brpJoin our Platform Engineering Technology Services (PETS) team and help build the platforms that power our 24/7 e-commerce business. As a Senior Platform Engineer, you'll primarily focus on our Observability Platform, enabling engineering teams to monitor, troubleshoot and optimize production systems, while collaborating closely with our Container Orchestration Platform team on shared platform initiatives. /p /brh3What You’ll Do /h3 /brul /brliOwn and continuously evolve our Observability Platform, including logging, metrics, tracing, monitoring and alerting. /li /brliEnhance and operate our observability stack using technologies such as Elastic Stack, Prometheus and Thanos. /li /brliDesign and implement scalable solutions for Application Performance Monitoring (APM), distributed tracing and AIOps-driven automation.
/li /brliCollaborate with the Container Orchestration Platform team to collect and manage telemetry from workloads running on AWS and Kubernetes. /li /brliAutomate infrastructure and operational processes using Infrastructure as Code and modern DevOps practices. /li /brliBuild and improve platform services using open-source technologies and custom tooling where appropriate. /li /brliSupport engineering teams in adopting and using observability services effectively. /li /brliContribute to the reliability, scalability and availability of our platform, including participation in an occasional on-call rotation. /li /brliPartner with our Principal Engineer to help shape platform architecture and technical direction. /li /br /ul /brh3Qualifications /h3 /brh3What you’ll bring /h3 /brul /brli5+ years of experience in Platform Engineering, Systems Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), DevOps Engineering, or a similar role. /li /brliA degree in Computer Science or an equivalent technical qualification. /li /brliStrong experience with several of the following: /li /brul /brliElastic Stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash and Kibana) /li /brliPrometheus, Thanos or other time-series monitoring platforms /li /brliApplication Performance Monitoring (APM) and distributed tracing (e.g. Elastic APM, Jaeger) /li /brliInfrastructure as Code using Terraform and configuration management with Ansible /li /brliAWS and production cloud environments /li /brliKubernetes in production environments /li /br /ul /brliHands-on experience with Git and Docker. /li /brliProgramming or scripting skills, preferably in Python and Bash. /li /brliGood understanding of networking concepts, including DNS, firewalls and load balancing. /li /brliExperience troubleshooting production systems,
