Participates in performance improvement activities. /p h3Demonstrates Competency in the Following Areas /h3 ul liPerforms all assigned tasks in a professional manner in order to reflect the highest integrity of the Environmental Services Department. /li liPerforms routine cleaning of patient rooms, nursing units, offices, and clinical areas, waiting areas, lobbies, lounges, rest rooms, corridors, elevators and stairways in a clean, neat and sanitary manner. /li liCompletes work assignments in a timely manner. /li liUtilizes the appropriate chemicals and supplies according to procedure. /li liUses and maintains equipment properly. /li liAssists visitors with directions whenever requested. /li liAlways introduces self to patients, families and visitors. /li liReports safety hazards as appropriate. /li liTransports trash and hazardous waste to appropriate disposal area. /li liReplenishes supplies. /li liFollows all infection prevention and control practices, including Standard Precautions, Transmission-Based Precautions and hand hygiene. /li liMaintains set quality standards when performing job duties. /li liWorks day, evening or night shift as assigned. /li liAbility to do work on his/her own with normal supervision. /li liObserves safety precautions at all times. /li liMaintains and ensures age-specific precautions. /li liPerforms all aspects of assigned tasks in a manner that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors. /li liSupports and maintains a culture of safety and quality. /li liAble to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. /li liAble to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Normal/corrected eyesight. Hearing within normal range. Exposure to chemical, electrical and mechanical hazards. Operates floor machines—buffers, scrubbers, and wet vacuums. Continuous walking and standing. Lifting up to 80 pounds. Carrying up to 40 pounds.
