BSBI offers industry-relevant programs that focus on the development of practical entrepreneurial skills necessary for professional success. /p pLocated in the heart of Berlin and with campuses in Paris, Barcelona, Hamburg and Athens, we are an international business school that offers academic excellence, is a member of Global University Systems (GUS) and provides unlimited career opportunities for its students and staff. /p pWe are looking for a new colleague to join our team as a freelance lecturer in Global MBA with expertise in System Operations, Project Management and Leadership, starting July 2026. /p pbThe Opportunity: /b The Freelance Lecturer at Berlin School of Business and Innovation (all campuses, all faculties) will be the principal academic contact and leader for the assigned Course/Unit/Module/Dissertation/Project/Internship. Please note that there is no differentiation in the standards or requirements of the tasks for Freelance or Full‑time faculty. The Freelance arrangement is just a mode of engagement to offer you greater flexibility. As a Freelance Lecturer, you will be requested to contribute to one or more of the following: A. Teaching B. Research Supervision C. Combination of Teaching and Research. /p pbRESPONSIBILITIES /b /p ul liTeaching in English and/or Spanish the assigned academic modules according to the curriculum. /li liAdministering, proctoring and marking all students’ assignments and exam papers of all assigned classes. /li liAmending or designing and developing a new curriculum for a module, if required. /li liUpdating a syllabus or syllabi, if required. /li liSupervising a number of dissertations per academic year (if required). /li liProviding consultation and mentoring to students. /li liCreating assignment briefs and exam papers.
/li liProviding feedback to students using positive reinforcement techniques to encourage, motivate or build confidence. /li liTeaching students study skills relevant to programmes and exam‑taking strategies. /li liProviding, if needed, private instruction to individual or small groups of students to improve academic performance and to prepare for exams. /li liAssessing students’ progress throughout tutoring sessions. /li liScheduling tutoring appointments with students. /li liMonitoring student performance or assisting students in academic environments, such as classrooms, laboratories or computing centres. /li liOrganising the tutoring environment to promote productivity and learning. /li liParticipating in training and development sessions to improve tutoring practices or learn new tutoring techniques. /li liCommunicating effectively with students and conveying passion for learning. /li liMaintaining records of students’ assessment results, progress, feedback or school performance, ensuring confidentiality of all records. /li liPreparing lesson plans or learning modules for tutoring sessions according to the programme’s needs and goals. /li liCreatively designing teaching materials that maximises students’ experience. /li liDeveloping content, both written and recorded, as directed by the Chief Academic Officer. /li liResearching or recommending textbooks, software, equipment or other learning materials to complement tutoring. /li liCommunicating students’ progress to students in written progress reports, in person, by phone, by e‑mail and/or teleconferencing. /li liIdentifying, developing or implementing intervention strategies, tutoring plans or individualised education plans (IEPs) for students.
/li liPerforming day‑to‑day tasks such as maintaining information files and processing paperwork related to teaching activities. /li liProviding feedback to students on their progress. /li liPlaying a proactive role in promoting the school. /li liProviding all students with tutor support to develop their assignments. /li liParticipating in the school’s activities as required by the Chief Academic Officer. /li /ul h3Your profile /h3 pbPROFESSIONAL COMPETENCIES /b /p ul liPhD / PhDc or DBA / DBAc or MBA or Master’s Degree (in a business discipline) /li liPrior teaching experience in higher education at university level /li liVery good knowledge of Windows OS, of MS Office suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) and Microsoft Teams /li liScientific publications in a related discipline /li liFluent in spoken and written English (minimum 6.5 IELTS) /li liFluent in Spanish /li liKnowledge of educational platforms (i.e. Canvas, Blackboard etc.) /li liWorking knowledge of timetabling software /li liSound knowledge of study regulations and rules /li /ul pbPERSONAL COMPETENCIES /b /p ul liVery good organisational and communication skills /li liHigh social competence and assertiveness /li liMaintaining an overview even with high workloads /li liEntrepreneurial and economic way of thinking and working /li liResilient and flexible /li liMotivated for further academic and professional development /li /ul h3Why us? /h3 pBSBI’s mission is to educate students to effectively shape the future and become excellent leaders of tomorrow in an ever‑changing business world.
