Manager – Building Installations Engineering Department

Group IPS is looking for a Manager in Madrid to lead the building services team within a group dedicated to the design of building projects. The candidate will coordinate with the group’s structural and architectural teams.

Responsibilities

- Lead the facilities team, coordinate staff, manage projects and clients, and collaborate with other departments within the group (architecture, structural engineering, etc.).
- Manage and supervise building facilities projects, including mechanical, electrical, lighting, plumbing, sanitation, fire protection, and related systems.
- Collaborate with architects, structural engineers, and other construction professionals to ensure proper integration of MEP systems within the overall project.
- Supervise the installation and commissioning of systems, ensuring compliance with local, national, and international regulations, as well as safety and energy efficiency standards.
- Prepare and coordinate budgets, technical drawings, and specifications, using project management software and the Autodesk platform.
- Inspect and analyze technical issues, propose solutions, and make design adjustments based on site conditions.




- Coordinate and supervise the technical teams and contractors responsible for the installation of MEP systems.
- Report to project managers and contractors.
- Ensure that health and safety policies are followed on site and assist in preparing documentation for permits and licenses.

Requirements
- Degree in Industrial, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering; minimum 7 years experience as an MEP team coordinator and 10+ years overall experience.
- Solid knowledge of building systems design, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, heat transfer, electrical circuits, and lighting controls.
- Experience in data centers or similar mission‑critical projects is a plus.
- Languages: English and Spanish; other languages are a plus.
- Experience in other building services (fire protection, acoustics, etc.) is a plus.
- Knowledge of software such as REVIT MEP is a plus.
- Strong coordination skills, initiative, and attention to detail.
