ph3WHO ARE WE? /h3 pSateliot is a Barcelona-based startup in the New Space sector, becoming the first satellite telecommunications operator that will provide global and continuous connectivity to all the elements that will make up the massive Internet of Things (IoT) universe under the 5G protocol. In order to do so, Sateliot is launching a constellation of last generation nanosatellites located at low altitude that act as mobile towers. Sateliot is the perfect complement for large telecommunications companies by providing them with the necessary infrastructure where terrestrial technologies do not arrive. /p h3YOUR MISSION /h3 pSateliot is seeking a Principal Mechanical Engineer to lead mechanical and thermal-structural engineering across the full lifecycle of an advanced LEO satellite platform and payload antenna system. This role requires a deep first-principles approach to mechanical design, combined with hands‑on expertise in developing lightweight, deployable, semi‑rigid space structures that must survive launch loads, deploy reliably in orbit, and maintain performance through aggressive LEO thermal cycling. The successful candidate will take ownership from early concept and detailed design through manufacturing, qualification, integration, testing, and on‑orbit support. /p h3Your Main Functions /h3 h3Mechanical Architecture Structural Leadership /h3 ul liOwn the mechanical design of the satellite bus structure and payload antenna assemblies. /li liLead architecture decisions using physics‑based first principles reasoning, balancing mass, stiffness, thermal stability, and manufacturability. /li liDrive structural trade‑offs for LEO‑class spacecraft where volume and mass efficiency are critical. /li /ul h3Deployable Lightweight Space Structures /h3 ul liDesign and qualify deployable mechanisms and semi‑rigid lightweight structures (antenna deployment systems, panels, booms, hinges). /li liEnsure robust repeatability, stiffness, and dimensional stability after deployment. /li liAddress latch design, hold‑down release mechanisms, tolerances, and deployment dynamics in orbit. /li /ul h3LEO Orbital Mechanical Environment Expertise /h3 ul liDesign spacecraft structures for the unique challenges of LEO operation, including: ul liHigh‑frequency thermal cycling (eclipse transitions)



/li liThermo‑elastic distortion affecting payload pointing and RF performance /li liAtomic oxygen degradation of exposed materials /li liMicrogravity‑induced structural behaviour changes /li /ul /li /ul h3Launch Survivability Mechanical Qualification /h3 ul liEnsure all mechanical systems meet launcher and environmental requirements, including: ul liRandom vibration /li liAcoustic loading /li liShock events (separation, pyro‑shock) /li /ul /li liDefine qualification and acceptance approaches suitable for LEO constellation‑style deployment, balancing reliability and production cadence. /li /ul h3Full Engineering Lifecycle Ownership /h3 ul liLead mechanical development through the complete lifecycle: ul liConcept design and prototyping /li liDetailed CAD and manufacturing release /li liSupplier engagement and production readiness /li liAssembly, Integration Test (AIT) /li liQualification campaigns (vibration, thermal vacuum, deployment testing) /li /ul /li /ul h3Structural Analysis Verification /h3 ul liOversee structural analysis activities, including: ul liFEM development and correlation /li liModal analysis, static margins, buckling, dynamic response /li /ul /li liEstablish verification plans compliant with ECSS/NASA/launcher requirements. /li liSupport hardware test execution, anomaly resolution, and design iteration. /li /ul h3Cross‑Functional Technical Leadership /h3 ul liAct as mechanical technical authority interfacing with systems, RF, thermal, avionics, manufacturing, and mission teams. /li liMentor engineers and elevate structural/mechanical rigor across the organization. /li /ul h3REQUIREMENTS /h3 h3General /h3 ul liMSc or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related discipline. /li /ul h3Professional Experience /h3 ul li10+ years of experience delivering flight mechanical hardware for spacecraft or high‑reliability aerospace systems. /li liStrong first‑principles structural and thermal‑mechanical reasoning capability. /li liProven experience designing for: ul liLaunch vibration and shock environments /li liThermal‑vacuum operation in LEO /li liDeployable spacecraft structures and antenna systems /li /ul /li /ul h3Tools Technical Competencies /h3 ul liStructural simulation: ANSYS, Abaqus /li liUnderstanding of coupled thermal‑structural effects preferred /li liExperience with qualification documentation, test correlation,
