About the role

We are seeking an experienced Lead Software Engineer for our “Seqera Platform” team—a customer‑facing product offered as both cloud‑ and on‑premises solutions. You will address a wide range of technical challenges across frontend, backend, infrastructure, distributed programming, containerization, cloud architectures, and integrations, helping scientists solve complex problems in biotech.

What You’ll Do

-

- Lead a high‑talent engineering team that designs, implements, and maintains efficient, reusable, and reliable code across our full software stack.

- Collaborate closely with product and cross‑functional teams, interpreting customer feedback to drive development that exceeds user expectations.

- Champion best engineering practices, improve processes, document onboarding artifacts, aid hiring, prioritize technical backlog, and positively influence Seqera’s engineering culture.

About You





-

- Strong foundational knowledge in software engineering, with experience in both front‑end and back‑end development and the ability to quickly ramp up on new frameworks and technologies.

- Proficiency in writing optimized, well‑tested, and secure code for both front‑end and back‑end environments, including efficient algorithms, coding standards, and security best practices.

- Demonstrated experience designing, modeling, and operating database systems, guiding data‑modeling decisions, schema evolution, and performance trade‑offs at scale.

- Expertise in API design and best practices, handling requests from diverse clients within the Seqera Ecosystem and enterprise use cases.

- Hands‑on experience with cloud architectures and deployments, having worked with at least one major cloud provider and built distributed architecture on its services.

- Familiarity with container technologies and orchestration solutions such as Kubernetes and/or Docker Compose.

Nice to Have

-

- Knowledge of HPC and batch solutions (AWS Batch, Google Batch, Azure Batch) on‑premise and in the cloud.

- Experience with Angular and React.

- A passion for the full application lifecycle—design, implement,



deploy, monitor, maintain, and iterate on solutions.

- Experience in both enterprise and SaaS architectures.
