Fitch Ratings is currently seeking a Credit Analyst (Analyst / Senior Analyst) for the Financial Institutions – Benelux Banks team based out of our Warsaw or Madrid office (other continental Europe locations may also be considered).

About The Team

The Fitch Ratings Financial Institutions Group has built the agency into the general leader in bank credit rating coverage. Our analysts provide comprehensive, timely, and transparent coverage of major institutions and smaller companies, drawing on experience in regulatory oversight, counterparty analysis, auditing, investment banking, and buy‑side investing.

How You’ll Make An Impact

-

- Monitor a portfolio of issuer ratings, including the preparation of rating committee documentation.

- Analyze the financial institutions sector and individual bank data across diverse operating environments, developing an understanding of how economic, regulatory, and market developments influence credit profiles.

- Update and enhance internal analytical tools used for peer analysis and charts.

- Draft and publish comprehensive rating reports on individual issuers.

- Participate in credit rating committees for banks in your region and other countries, gaining exposure to a broad range of business models and credit considerations.





- Interact with issuer contacts and gain valuable exposure to senior management at banks through rating meetings and ongoing dialogue.

- Contribute to sector‑specific research and commentary, including the preparation of peer data, country snapshots, and sector background information.

- Support the wider team in covering other banks in the portfolio, including reviewing annual and quarterly accounts, responding to ad‑hoc data requests, and helping to prepare committee packs.

You May Be a Good Fit If You Have

-

- Proven analytical experience (between 2 and 5 years), preferably in credit or audit‑related fields, gained at a commercial/investment bank, accountancy firm, buy‑side firm, regulatory authority, rating agency, or similar organization.

- Background in financial institutions or corporate credit analysis;
experience in developedmarkets bank analysis is desirable.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and either Italian or Spanish.

- Good educational background to at least a first university degree level, preferably with professional qualifications such as CFA.

- Ability to work independently and as a good team player.

- Ability to cope with time pressure and meet deadlines.

- Strong command of financial statement analysis.

- Proficiency in Excel.

This position will involve occasional travel.
