ppSompo International is seeking a Claims Governance Quality Assurance Specialist to join our Continental Europe Claims team. As part of our expanding organisation, this role reports to the Head of Claims, Continental Europe, and plays a key part in strengthening our governance framework, enhancing claims quality, and supporting the profitable growth strategy of Sompo International in the region. The position spans multiple countries and requires close collaboration with local claims teams, Compliance, Finance, ERM Operational Risk, and senior management. The role also acts as a key interface with Internal Audit, which oversees the J‑SOX framework, and with the ERM Operational Risk team, which manages RCSAs, incident/event reporting, and thematic reviews of material operational risk areas. /p pLocation: This position will be based in one of our European Offices, preferably in Paris. /p h3What you’ll be doing: /h3 ul liQuality Assurance /li liConduct independent QA reviews of claim files across lines of business and jurisdictions. /li liIdentify trends, control gaps, and improvement opportunities for our claims handling. /li liProvide structured feedback to claims teams and support remediation plans. /li liMaintain and enhance QA frameworks, scoring methodologies, and reporting tools. /li liMonitor claims leakage indicators and support initiatives to reduce leakage. /li liClaims Governance Risk Controls /li liCoordinate and monitor J‑SOX controls related to claims processes. /li liEnsure compliance with regulatory requirements across the Continental Europe region. /li liSupport fraud detection and prevention activities, including case triage, escalation, and follow‑up. /li liEnsure compliance with sanctions screening requirements and related controls. /li liSupport Compliance in managing claims‑related complaints, including tracking, root‑cause analysis, and reporting.
/li liMaintain governance documentation and act as primary contact for Internal Audit on J‑SOX testing and audit reviews. /li liEnsure timely delivery of control evidence, audit responses, and remediation actions. /li liReporting Data Analytics /li liProduce regular and ad‑hoc claims KPI dashboards and management reports. /li liAnalyse trends in claims performance, leakage, cycle times, QA outcomes, and operational risk events. /li liTranslate claims data into actionable insights for senior management and cross‑functional stakeholders. /li liSupport regulatory reporting and internal governance reporting requirements. /li liGuidelines, Processes Best Practices /li liDraft, update, and improve claims guidelines, procedures, and best‑practice documents. /li liEnsure alignment with regulatory requirements, internal standards, and market practices. /li liSupport training, communication, and change‑management efforts to embed new processes across countries. /li liContribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the Claims function. /li /ul h3Experience Qualifications /h3 ul li10+ years of experience in insurance claims, claims governance, quality assurance, operational risk, internal audit, or a related function within a corporate insurance or reinsurance environment. /li liExperience working in a multinational or multi‑jurisdictional claims environment is strongly preferred. /li liFamiliarity with J‑SOX, internal controls frameworks, or audit processes is a strong advantage. /li liExperience with data analytics,
