Focus on designing scalable, secure, and well-governed AI systems, establishing robust evaluation frameworks, and architecting human-in-the-loop and agentic workflows. Location: Office-first in Barcelona & Madrid, Spain, with 20% remote flexibility. Salary: €86,000–€108,000. Factorial is a fast-growing Saa S company building business management software for HR, finance, and operations, headquartered in Barcelona.
What you will do
Drive the evolution of modern AI development practices across the organization.
Lead a culture of defining clear specifications before shipping AI features.
Design and implement shared AI capabilities and abstractions across product domains.
Drive the creation of modular, reusable AI 'skills' for workflow automation.
Lead the development of automated and human-in-the-loop AI evaluation systems.
Define strategies for grounding AI systems in trusted company and customer data.
Requirements




Very solid software engineering expertise in both backend and frontend.
Experience with cloud platforms, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
Proven experience shipping real products to production.
Strong knowledge of APIs, cloud platforms, and system design.
Seen as a technical and cultural leader, challenging engineering processes.
Excellent communication skills in English.
