Amazon aims to exceed the expectations of our customers by ensuring that their orders are delivered quickly, accurately, and in the most cost effective way possible. /p pAs a EU CO Area Manager, you will drive performance on day to day operations and projects for EU CO. Your role will be to focus on key KPIs in terms of forecast accuracy and process adherance/improvement playing a key role in deliverables to both our Delivery Station and Delivery Service Partner Management team. /p pThis position offers an exciting opportunity to make history and become a member of a team whose purpose is to solve complex challenges and create unprecedented customer experiences. You will be responsible for driving program scoping, roll out and compliance/monitoring and stakeholder experience. In addition, you will be instrumental in developing best practices and standard work for the network. /p pYou will play a proactive role in written and verbal communication with various departments, as you maintain Amazon’s exceptionally high levels of service, both for our customers and suppliers, facilitating the flow of information between different stakeholders and resolving any potential issues that impact business continuity. We need you to step back at strategic intervals to take in the bigger picture and to be comfortable conducting research into process improvement initiatives and taking real‑time decisions. You will also maintain and report up to date and accurate statistics, management reports and analysis. /p h3Key job responsibilities /h3 ul liManaging daily operations of the team, ensuring all the required tasks are executed on time, adhering to the standard practices. /li liMonitor and report on daily and weekly performances. Deep dive on trends,
identify the gaps in performance metrics and take corrective actions. /li liExecute best practices that improve customer, cost, and delivery partner outcomes. Develop processes and systems to achieve metrics, often requiring scrappy solutions to temporarily overcome technical limitations. The ability to scale will be critical to all processes. /li liCreate and drive scalable standard work that enables remote support of a complex business area. /li liProactively identify and lead process improvement initiatives through quantitative analysis and data‑driven decision making. /li liCreate, manage, support recognition and communication programs for scheduling team. /li /ul h3A day in the life /h3 pAs Area Managers, you will lead a shift in Central Operations, overseeing Sorting and Flow Management tasks. You will ensure that teams of Shift Managers and Schedulers deploy the latest forecast updates, container plan optimization, and risk mitigations for the entire EU network on a daily basis. You must guarantee execution excellence, accurate reporting, and continuous process improvements in operations. /p h3About the team /h3 pCentral Operations (CO) refers to a new approach within Amazon Logistics (AMZL) to define a scalable solution to run the increasingly complex and growing last mile delivery network. CO is a key strategic initiative with a vision to transform the way AMZL executes forecasting, route planning, demand scheduling and last mile delivery. We are looking for a Operations Manager with a track record of operational excellence to drive scalability, ensuring strong processes and culture are developed. This person will be able to lead a team that operates in areas of the business with a high degree of ambiguity that require a great deal of thought leadership. The role will provide opportunities to think big,
develop original ideas, and partner with AMZL Planning, Transportation, Last Mile Tech, Operations and business expansion teams to develop a strategic approach to scale Central Operations. /p h3Basic Qualifications /h3 ul liBachelor’s degree, or Master’s degree /li liExperience in human resources management /li liExperience communicating clearly and concisely with leadership, stakeholders, and cross‑functional teams /li liExperience in English-language communication skills, both written and verbal /li liExperience using data to influence business decisions /li /ul h3Preferred Qualifications /h3 ul liExperience with process improvements (Lean Six Sigma and/or Kaizen) /li liExperience in logistics /li liExperience working with the MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) in a professional environment /li /ul pAmazon is an equal opportunities employer.
