As a Network Observability Engineer, you won’t just be building dashboards for network engineers; you will be architecting the systems that ensure our general teams can collaborate on life‑saving medicine without interruption. You will join the Network Management Services team, a global group of specialized engineers sitting at the heart of Roche’s infrastructure strategy. Your work directly influences how our global network is designed, monitored, and optimized. At Roche, observability isn’t an afterthought; it is a strategic requirement that transforms raw data into the operational intelligence we need to stay ahead. /ph3Main Responsibilities /h3ulliArchitecture Scaling: Design and scale our observability stack (LogicMonitor, ThousandEyes, LiveNX) to provide real‑time insights across a massive global footprint. /liliData Acquisition Integration: Develop and maintain methods for extracting network data using various mechanisms, including SNMP, APIs, and network telemetry/streaming data. /liliSystem Administration Tooling: Utilize Linux and system administration knowledge to maintain monitoring infrastructure and integrate various open‑source and commercial tools.
/liliInnovate Prototype: Evaluate new monitoring solutions and open‑source visualization tools (e.g., Grafana) to enhance our observability stack and stay ahead of industry trends. /liliProactive Problem Solving: Use monitoring data to identify network performance issues, bottlenecks, and anomalies to reduce Mean Time to Resolution (MTTR) and prevent future incidents. /liliUnified Analytics Stakeholder Reporting: Work in the design and implementation of a centralized observability dashboard fed by our corporate Data Lake. You will synthesize disparate data types—including technical network telemetry, financial metrics, and ITSM process data—to create meaningful, actionable reports for both internal technical teams and external business stakeholders. /li /ulh3Qualifications /h3ulliEducation / Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent work experience. 3+ years in Network Operations, SRE, or DevOps environments. /liliAutomation Skills: Deep proficiency in Linux/Unix and automation (Python, Bash, or Ansible) /liliConnectivity Foundation: Good understanding of connectivity technologies (CCNA level or equivalent experience). /liliTooling Expertise: Hands‑on experience with modern observability platforms and the ability to turn raw telemetry into actionable insights. /liliData‑Driven Mindset:
Experience with API‑based data collection and integrating disparate data sources into unified dashboards. /liliCross‑Domain Data Analytics: Experience working with Data Lakes to aggregate and normalize disparate data types (e.g., technical network telemetry, financial metrics, and ITSM process logs) into cohesive, stakeholder‑facing reports and business intelligence dashboards. /li /ulh3Who we are /h3pA healthier future drives us to innovate.
