ppSenior Care Rn/Lpn - Ft Night Shift Johnson Regional Medical Center Padornelo, Kingdom Of Spain, ES /ph3Job Title /h3pRN/LPN - Senior Care: FT, Weeknights /ph3Reports To /h3pCharge Nurse/Director /ph3Job Summary /h3pProvides direct and indirect patient care services that meet the psychosocial, physical and general aspects of care; meets the communication needs of patient and family; provides care that reflects initiative and responsibility indicative of professional expectations. Maintains regulatory agency requirements, nursing and hospital policies, procedures and standards. Communicates with physicians and team members about changes in patient’s clinical condition, including results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology. Is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment. Additionally, is able to perform general nursing duties in all departments with adequate supervision. /ph3Responsibilities /h3ulliDemonstrates ability to perform a head-to-toe assessment on all patients and reassessments as per policy. This includes pediatric, geriatric and the general patient population. /liliAbility to adequately assess and reassess pain. Utilizes appropriate pain management techniques. Educates the patient and family regarding pain management. /liliPerforms patient care responsibilities considering needs specific to the standard of care for patient’s age. /liliDemonstrates knowledge of medications and their correct administration based on age of the patient and patient’s clinical condition. /liliFollows the seven (7) medication rights and reduces the potential for medication errors. /liliDemonstrates ability to revise plan of care as indicated by the patient’s response to treatment and evaluate overall plan daily for effectiveness. /liliAbility to perform waived testing (point-of-care testing) per Clinical Laboratory’s and the resident care unit’s policies and procedures. /liliAbility to interpret results of waived tests; take appropriate action on waived tests results. /liliFormulates a teaching plan based on identified patient learning needs and evaluates effectiveness of learning; family is included in teaching as appropriate. /liliDemonstrates an ability to assist physicians with procedures and performs services requiring technical and manual skills. /liliDemonstrates ability to perform treatments and provide services to level of licensure. /liliTreats patients and their families with respect and dignity. Identifies and addresses psychosocial,



cultural, ethnic and religious/spiritual needs of patients and their families. /liliInteracts professionally with patient/family and involves patient/family in the formation of the plan of care. /liliIdentifies and addresses psychosocial needs of patients and family; communicates with Social Service/Discharge Planner regarding both in-hospital and post discharge needs. /liliDemonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and the skills necessary to provide age appropriate care to the patient population served. Able to interpret data about the patient’s status in order to identify each patient’s age specific needs and provide care needed by the patient group. /liliPerforms all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors. /liliSupports and maintains a culture of safety and quality. /liliCoordinates and supervises patient care. /liliConsults other departments, as appropriate, to provide for an interdisciplinary approach to the patient’s needs. /liliCommunicates appropriately and clearly to team leader, co-workers and physicians. /liliMeets current documentation standards and policies. /liliResponse to the patient is appropriate in emergency or physically distressful situation. /liliMaintains a good working relationship both within the department and with other departments. /liliDemonstrates an ability to be adaptable, organized and function under stressful situations. /liliManages and operates equipment safely and correctly. /liliRN's - Performs other duties as assigned within the RN scope of practice. /liliLPN's - Performs other duties as assigned within the LPN scope of practice. /liliLPN's - Coordinates and supervises patient care under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse. /li /ulh3Requirements /h3h3Professional Requirements /h3ulliAdheres to dress code, appearance is neat and clean. /liliCompletes annual education requirements. /liliMaintains regulatory requirements, including all federal, state,



local regulations and accrediting organization standards. /liliMaintains and ensures patient confidentiality at all times. /liliReports to work on time and as scheduled, completes work within designated time. /liliWears identification while on duty, uses computerized punch time system correctly. /liliCompletes inservices and returns in a timely fashion. /liliAttends annual review and department inservices, as scheduled. /liliAttends 12 staff meetings annually, or reads and returns monthly staff meeting minutes. /liliRepresents the organization in a positive and professional manner. /liliActively participates in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement (CQI) activities. /liliComplies with all organizational policies regarding ethical business practices. /liliCommunicates the mission, ethics and goals of the hospital, as well as the focus statement of the department. /li /ulh3Regulatory Requirements /h3ulliGraduate of an accredited school of nursing. /liliRN's - Current state Registered Nurse Licensure, within state of Arkansas. /liliLPN's - Current LPN licensure within the state of Arkansas. /liliCurrent BLS certification. /li /ulh3Language Skills /h3ulliAble to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing. /liliAdditional languages preferred. /li /ulh3Skills /h3ulliBasic computer knowledge. /li /ulh3Physical Demands /h3ulliMobility, sight, hearing, verbal communication, changes in temperature, exposure to disagreeable elements, exposure to biological, mechanical, electrical, and chemical hazards. Frequent standing and walking. Lift up to 100 pounds. Carrying up to 40 pounds. Pushing/pulling up to 450 pounds. /liliThis position is a safety sensitive position pursuant to Amendment 98 to the Arkansas Constitution § 2(25).
