Join Arup's Energy team to advance HV substation design and integration for decarbonised energy systems. You will work across collector substations, REE dispatch, BESS, and renewables, delivering HV projects for utilities and data centers. You’ll lead technical design, calculations, and QA/QC, while supporting bids, procurement, and commissioning. This role combines deep engineering, cross-functional collaboration, and impact across Spain's energy transition.
Compensaciones / Beneficios
• Lead the engineering design, technical strategy, and delivery of HV substation projects for utilities and renewables/data centers
• Prepare and review substation design packages: single-line diagrams, layouts, equipment specs, conduit/cable plans, grounding, protection, lighting, and BOMs
• Perform substation studies and calculations (short circuit, grounding, lightning, voltage drop) and QA/QC for deliverables
• Support bid and execution phase design, tendering, and owners engineering up to 400 kV
• Develop HV Substation control and communication system designs (IEC 61850, diagrams, logic)
• Design advanced communication architectures connecting substations with generation plants, BESS, data centers, and control centers
• Implement IEC 61850 based redundant topologies (PRP, HSR, RSTP) and coordinate FAT/SAT
• Lead Step Up Substation integration and commissioning including collector substation, dispatch centers, and REMOTE tests
• Coordinate end-to-end communication tests with REE Dispatch Center (telemetry, metering, frontier counting)
• Provide technical specifications for HV equipment and support procurement and project xqbhyrx execution
Responsabilidades
• Bachelor/Master in Electrical Engineering
• 2–5 years of HV substation design, implementation, and commissioning experience
• Strong expertise in substation protection, control systems, and detailed engineering
• Fluent in Spanish and English (written and spoken)
