ph3Director – Construction Delay Expert Services /h3 pWe are seeking an experienced bDirector to join our Construction Delay Expert Services practice in Madrid /b. The successful candidate will have substantial experience in construction planning, scheduling, delay analysis, and the preparation of independent expert evidence for major construction and engineering disputes. /p pThe Director will lead complex delay and programming assignments, coordinate multidisciplinary expert teams, and contribute to the preparation and presentation of expert reports in large and complex international arbitration and litigation proceedings. The role requires strong technical expertise, sound professional judgement, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with clients, legal counsel, technical specialists, and other expert disciplines. /p pThe position may involve international travel depending on project, client, and hearing requirements. /p h3Key Responsibilities /h3 ul liLead construction delay, disruption, and scheduling analyses in connection with major international construction and engineering disputes. /li liDevelop and implement appropriate forensic delay analysis methodologies based on the contractual framework, available project records, programme quality, and issues in dispute. /li liPrepare, review, and contribute to independent expert reports for international arbitration, litigation, adjudication, dispute boards, mediation, and other dispute resolution proceedings. /li liAnalyse baseline programmes, programme updates, critical paths, progress records, contemporaneous project documentation, extensions of time, acceleration measures, mitigation actions, and alleged causes of delay. /li liApply internationally recognised delay analysis methodologies and professional guidance, including the Society of Construction Law Delay and Disruption Protocol and relevant AACE International Recommended Practices. /li liUse and interrogate internationally recognised planning and scheduling software, including Oracle Primavera P6, and other relevant planning and project controls platforms. /li liProvide clear and independent opinions on matters including critical delay, concurrency, causation, responsibility, mitigation, acceleration, disruption, and extensions of time. /li liCoordinate and supervise teams of delay analysts, planners, consultants, and junior professionals across multiple jurisdictions. /li liWork collaboratively with experts and specialists in other disciplines, including quantum, financial damages, engineering, technical, project management, and contract administration. /li liCoordinate the delay analysis with the assessment of prolongation costs, disruption,



loss of productivity, acceleration costs, and other financial consequences. /li liParticipate in meetings with clients, external legal counsel, witnesses of fact, technical advisers, and other experts. /li liAssist legal teams with the development of case strategy, document requests, witness interviews, hearing preparation, and the identification of relevant technical and programming evidence. /li liPrepare presentations, demonstratives, hearing materials, and other clear visual explanations of complex delay and scheduling issues. /li liPresent expert opinions clearly and persuasively in meetings, expert conferences, hearings, and other formal proceedings. /li liProvide oral evidence as an expert witness and respond effectively to cross-examination. /li liReview and critique opposing expert reports, methodologies, assumptions, calculations, and conclusions. /li liSupport business development activities, including the preparation of proposals, client presentations, fee estimates, scopes of work, and credentials. /li liDevelop and maintain relationships with law firms, contractors, owners, developers, investors, public authorities, and other participants in the construction and infrastructure sectors. /li liContribute to the growth, technical development, and quality assurance of the Construction Delay Expert Services practice. /li liMentor and develop team members and promote consistent technical and professional standards across assignments. /li /ul h3Required Qualifications And Experience /h3 ul liA minimum of 15 years of relevant professional experience in construction planning, scheduling, project controls, delay analysis, claims consulting, or construction dispute resolution. /li liExtensive experience undertaking delay and scheduling analyses for large, complex, and technically demanding construction or infrastructure projects. /li liDemonstrable experience preparing expert reports for major international arbitration or litigation proceedings. /li liExperience acting as an expert witness, including providing oral testimony and being subject to cross-examination. /li liAdvanced knowledge of forensic delay analysis methodologies and their practical application to construction disputes. /li liStrong working knowledge of the SCL Delay and Disruption Protocol, AACE International Recommended Practices,



and other internationally recognised delay analysis standards and guidance. /li liAdvanced proficiency in Oracle Primavera P6 and experience with other recognised planning and scheduling software. /li liStrong understanding of critical path method scheduling, programme logic, float, progress measurement, programme updating, resource and cost loading, baseline validation, and schedule quality assessment. /li liExperience coordinating multidisciplinary teams, including delay, quantum, financial damages, engineering, and technical specialists. /li liStrong knowledge of construction contracts, extensions of time, contractual notice requirements, concurrency, acceleration, mitigation, disruption, and causation. /li liExperience working on international projects and disputes involving multiple parties, jurisdictions, contractual structures, and governing laws. /li liExcellent analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills. /li liAbility to manage several complex assignments, deadlines, and stakeholder groups simultaneously. /li liHigh professional standards, independence, attention to detail, and sound judgement. /li liExperience with arbitration proceedings conducted under major institutional rules, including ICC, ICSD, LCIA, UNCITRAL, and other international arbitration frameworks. /li /ul h3Communication And Language Requirements /h3 ul liAbility to communicate complex technical and programming matters clearly, concisely, and persuasively. /li liExcellent written report-drafting skills. /li liStrong oral presentation and interpersonal skills. /li liConfidence communicating with senior executives, external counsel, tribunals, clients, witnesses, and other experts. /li liFull professional fluency in Spanish and English, both written and spoken. /li /ul h3Mobility /h3 ul liWillingness and ability to travel internationally when required for client meetings, project inspections, expert meetings, hearings, and other assignment-related activities. /li /ul h3Desirable Experience /h3 ul liDegree in engineering, construction management, architecture, quantity surveying, project management, or another relevant technical discipline. /li liRelevant postgraduate qualifications or professional certifications in planning, project management, construction law, claims, or dispute resolution. /li liExperience in sectors such as transport infrastructure, energy, oil and gas, industrial facilities, water, mining, buildings, concessions, and major public works. /li liExperience working for contractors, owners, consultants, project managers, or specialist construction claims and expert services firms. /li /ul /p #J-18808-Ljbffr
