Purpose of the role You’ll be enhancing the delivery of the most complex and interesting projects in the world through the power of project planning to the very highest standards. You’ll devise strategies and tactics to improve the way the project is delivered, translate this knowledge into a logic‑linked plan and analyse it using planning software, and use the plan to help the teams understand what to prioritise.

Team

This role is part of our Project Management Consultancy team which focuses on understanding the real problems of projects, implementing the best solutions, and developing scalable best practices, tools and technology. You will be part of our Project Planning Team, led by a planning discipline director.

Top five responsibilities

- Own the plan: Own the project plan for one or more projects and ensure the project is working to it effectively, mitigating and managing delays commercially.

- Own the outcome: Ensure the project team’s understanding and focus on the plan, influencing team members to adopt the best approach.

- Report and inform: Provide simple, actionable reports to stakeholders at all levels that help them deliver their part of the project more efficiently and effectively.

- Make scalable solutions: Develop scalable and repeatable best practices and tools in collaboration with the team so that long‑term impact is achieved.

- Develop everyone: Maximise the development of your team personally and professionally and educate our clients to improve as well.

Must have

- A construction engineering background:



At least 2+ years of experience on construction projects.

- Communication skills: Proficient written and verbal English, with charisma and influence to get construction people to adopt new approaches.

- Leadership capabilities: Ability to lead oneself proactively and lead others by asking the right questions and challenging them.

- Impact: Track record of making projects and organisations better beyond the basics by implementing scalable, repeatable solutions that had a significant positive impact.

What kinds of projects would I be working on? You may be exposed to several projects in the first year, covering complex and interesting environments such as data centres, infrastructure (including defense, rail, and highways), high‑tech (advanced manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, semiconductors), or complex building projects. Work is hands‑on and dynamic, with lessons transferred across projects to drive the highest levels of value.

Who are our clients? Major owners/operators and main contractors with project values between £1m and £1bn+ globally.

Where would I be working? Work location varies: some remote from home, some on‑site visits, occasional London office workshops, and travel to client sites in Europe or the Middle East.

How does what I do connect with the long‑term impact on the construction industry? You will document new solutions and evolve existing ones into a knowledge repository that will be open‑sourced to the industry.
