No /p pUSP‑CEU is seeking excellent postdoctoral researchers interested in applying for the bMSCA Postdoctoral Fellowships (MSCA‑PF 2026) /b.The University CEU holds the HR Excellence in Research (HRS4R) Award and is strongly committed to attracting and supporting international research talent. /p pUSP‑CEU is a competitive and supportive host institution for MSCA‑PF candidates, with a strong track record including b10 awarded fellowships /b, an exceptional b100/100 score /b, and btwo recent successes in the MSCA‑PF 2025 call /b. We offer personalised guidance throughout the proposal preparation process, as well as our bInternational Talent Retention Programme /b, which provides successful MSCA Fellows with an additional b6–12‑month contract /b to support long‑term career development. /p h3Hosting Research Group /h3 pCEMBIO was funded to conduct top-level research in metabolomics applied to any biomedical challenge. Our team integrates bover 35 international, diverse, and dynamic researchers /b from different backgrounds. We are proud to have balready hosted MSCA fellows /b, and have introduced them to our broad network of international collaborators. /p pLeading world‑class research in the field, CEMBIO members have participated in more than b240 papers over the past five years /b. Our labs are equipped with bcutting‑edge separation platforms /b coupled to bmass spectrometry /b detection. These include bUPLC /b, bGCs /b and bCE /b systems coupled to bnine QqQ, Q-TOF, and TOF /bbmass spectrometers /b. We are also equipped with all the necessary means for bdifferent sample preparation /b approaches in a variety of biological matrices, including lyophilizers, speed‑vacs, sample homogenizers, ultrasonic probes, cryogenic pulverizers, positive and negative pressure manifolds, and several sorts of centrifuges, among others. /p pAdditionally, CEMBIO provides all the expertise, tools and computational infrastructure needed to perform advanced data treatment on complex omics datasets enabling their biological interpretation.
/p pYour MSCA fellowship would be jointly supervised by bProf. Coral Barbas /b and bDr. Víctor González /b, two leading researchers in metabolomics and advanced analytical strategies. /p pbProf. Coral Barbas /b is an internationally recognised expert in bmultiplatform metabolomics (GC‑MS, LC‑MS, CE‑MS) /b and biomarker discovery. She has been visiting Professor at Imperial College London, and has held key roles in international scientific committees. /p pbDr. Víctor González /b brings strong expertise in bLC‑MS and CE‑MS method development /b, data treatment and green analytical chemistry. Declining fertility rates, the growing prevalence of reproductive disorders, and the limited understanding of the molecular mechanisms underlying many forms of infertility highlight the need for innovative research approaches. In this context, bmetabolomics /b provides a powerful framework to explore the biochemical processes underlying reproductive health,
enabling the discovery of novel biomarkers and mechanistic insights that may ultimately bimprove diagnosis /b and bclinical decision‑making /b in reproductive medicine. /p pThe DARKFERT research group at CEMBIO focuses on advancing bmetabolomics and analytical chemistry methodologies to address key questions in human fertility /b. Our interdisciplinary environment combines binnovative analytical chemistry /b, bcutting‑edge mass spectrometry /bplatforms, and badvanced data science /b to investigate the molecular complexity of breproductive biology /bwithin a bdense network of international collaborations /b including bacademic, clinical and industry partners /b. /p pCurrent research lines cover highly relevant areas at the binterface of metabolomics and reproductive medicine /b. These include the characterization of bseminal plasma /b as a non‑invasive matrix for reproductive health assessment, particularly in bazoospermia /b; the investigation of metabolic signatures associated with bendometriosis /b to enable earlier diagnosis; and the analysis of bembryo culture media /b to better understand early embryo development and implantation potential. Through these projects we aim to identify novel biomarkers, unravel disease mechanisms, and contribute to more personalized reproductive medicine. /p pWe welcome researchers who can bbring new expertise /b to our group while benefiting from bCEMBIO’s strong methodological framework /b.
