The GridBeats™ Software Portfolio is aggregating all Grid Automation applications which monitor, optimize and manage grid connected devices. It is a very complex and exciting portfolio which is setting the basis for grid connected devices management for the future. /p /brpThe Senior Software Developer be part of the Platform team and will support the integration and convergence of all GridBeats™ applications into a single coherent architecture and common software development best practices. It will work cross-functionally, across all team, coaching and mentoring junior developers, ensuring that software engineering best practices are well understood and consistently applied across the organization. /p /brh3Job Description /h3 /brh3Roles and Responsibilities /h3 /brh3Software Development Technical Delivery /h3 /brul /brliDesign, develop, test, and maintain high-quality software components for the GridBeats™ portfolio. /li /brliContribute to the implementation of backend services, integration layers, common libraries, and device/software interfaces. /li /brliDeliver robust, maintainable, and well‑documented code aligned with team standards and product requirements. /li /brliWork closely with architects, product owners, QA, and systems engineers to translate requirements into reliable technical solutions. /li /br /ul /brh3System Integration Interfaces /h3 /brul /brliImplement and support integrations between embedded software, firmware, middleware, backend systems,



analytics platforms, and other GE applications. /li /brliDevelop and maintain APIs, communication flows, data mappings, and interface implementations. /li /brliContribute to troubleshooting and resolving interoperability issues across systems and devices. /li /br /ul /brh3Engineering Best Practices /h3 /brul /brliApply software design principles, coding standards, and best practices to ensure maintainable and scalable implementation. /li /brliParticipate in code reviews, design discussions, and technical problem-solving with the team. /li /brliHelp establish and reinforce good engineering habits, including clean code, testing discipline, and reusable design. /li /br /ul /brh3Platform Reusable Components /h3 /brul /brliBuild and improve shared components, libraries, and services to reduce duplication and improve consistency across the portfolio. /li /brliContribute to development frameworks and reusable technical assets used by multiple teams. /li /brliSupport the adoption of common development practices and engineering toolchains. /li /br /ul /brh3Quality Attributes /h3 /brul /brliWrite software with strong attention to reliability, performance, maintainability, cybersecurity, and testability. /li /brliCollaborate with QA, Systems Engineering, and Cybersecurity teams to ensure software meets verification, validation, and compliance requirements. /li /brliSupport defect analysis, root cause investigation, and corrective action implementation for field or test issues. /li /br /ul /brh3Legacy Systems Migration /h3 /brul /brliAssist in refactoring, modernization, and migration activities for legacy systems. /li /brliSupport backward compatibility and controlled evolution of software components. /li /brliContribute to technical debt reduction through incremental improvements and codebase clean‑up.



/li /br /ul /brh3Mentoring Technical Leadership /h3 /brul /brliMentor junior engineers and support onboarding of new team members. /li /brliShare technical knowledge, implementation patterns, and lessons learned with the team. /li /brliAct as a technical role model through consistent delivery quality and collaborative working style. /li /br /ul /brh3Required Must Have Qualifications /h3 /brul /brliProven experience in software engineering, with strong hands‑on development experience /li /brliStrong knowledge of software design principles, patterns, and best practices /li /brliExperience with one or more programming languages and frameworks such as Java, C++, C#, Python, and JavaScript /li /brliFamiliarity with cloud computing platforms such as AWS or Azure /li /brliProven problem‑solving and analysis skills /li /brliFamiliarity with cybersecurity‑related standards and practices, ideally in industrial or embedded contexts /li /brliExperience developing software for large‑scale, distributed, or embedded systems /li /brliExperience integrating embedded systems with backend/cloud or enterprise software platforms /li /brliExperience defining or implementing APIs, system interfaces, and data models across multiple systems /li /brliExperience with system evolution, migration strategies, and technical debt management /li /brliExperience working with CI/CD, DevOps practices, and modern software development toolchains /li /brliUnderstanding of cybersecurity architecture and secure software design /li /brliExperience working in industrial, embedded, or safety‑critical environments is highly desirable /li /br /ul /brh3Desired Characteristics /h3 /brul /brliStrong oral and written communication skills.
