ppThe school now has an exciting opportunity for an experienced bSpanish and Catalan Primary Teacher /b to join our fantastic team. /p h3About the Role /h3 pBeginning September 2026, we are seeking to recruit an outstanding Primary Language Teacher (Spanish and Catalan) to join our team at the BSB Castelldefels Campus. We are looking for a committed and enthusiastic practitioner who will work collaboratively across the Primary phase and demonstrate a strong understanding of effective language acquisition in both Spanish and Catalan and can deliver the LOMLOE curriculum. /p pThe successful candidate will deliver engaging, structured, and progressive language lessons that promote confidence in speaking, listening, reading, and writing. They will use assessment effectively to support language development and ensure that all pupils make strong and sustained progress. /p pYou will join a team of dedicated, enthusiastic, and inspirational professionals who value high academic standards while embracing the opportunities of an international setting. A commitment to the wider life of the school is an essential expectation of the role. /p h3The Role /h3 ul liDeliver high-quality Spanish and Catalan lessons across the Primary phase, modelling outstanding practice in an innovative and inspirational way. /li liHave high expectations of all pupils and track progress using formative assessment strategies, informed by relevant data and observations across a range of speaking, listening, reading and writing opportunities. /li liDemonstrate a strong understanding of effective language acquisition pedagogy, including phonics, pronunciation, vocabulary development, and oracy. /li liContribute to the development and delivery of a coherent, progressive and engaging Spanish and Catalan curriculum across the primary years. /li liProvide clear feedback and communicate effectively with parents,



ensuring that both pupils and families are aware of strengths, progress and next steps in language learning. /li liWork collaboratively with colleagues to ensure language learning is embedded where appropriate across the wider curriculum and to support cover capacity across the school when required. /li liActively engage with the school’s performance management programme. /li liWork with colleagues and members of the SLT to ensure that school improvement priorities are effectively implemented within the language provision. /li /ul h3Skills /h3 ul liStrong classroom management and organisational skills. /li liAbility to create a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment. /li liStrong communication and collaboration skills with colleagues and families. /li liAbility to support children’s academic, social, and emotional development. /li liCommitment to safeguarding, professional development, and reflective practice. /li liPositive, proactive, and nurturing approach to teaching and learning. /li liLanguages: Excellent spoken and written English is essential; proficiency in additional languages is desirable. /li /ul h3Qualifications /h3 ul liBachelor's degree and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), or an internationally recognised equivalent, are essential. /li /ul h3Experience /h3 ul liSignificant experience in a similar role within a Primary school setting. /li /ul pCognita Schools are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff,

We are an HMC school and were judged by a recent BSO (British Schools Overseas) inspection to be outstanding in every area, including quality of education, safeguarding, pupil welfare and academic outcomes. /p pBSB is a large, very popular school for children aged 3 to 18. Our curriculum is based on the English National Curriculum, and we offer a wide range of GCSEs, A levels and the International Baccalaureate Diploma, all alongside a significant enrichment programme. /p pOver 2000 pupils from more than 74 nationalities attend the school and over 325 staff work at BSB. We are based in three locations, two just outside the city of Barcelona – in Castelldefels, where we have a Primary, Secondary and Pre-University campus, and in the cosmopolitan town of Sitges, where we have another Primary campus.
