OneTalent is partnering with a global leader in digital payment solutions and employee benefits to appoint a Country CIO | Technology Director (Executive Committee) to lead its technology organisation in Spain.
Although the internal title is Country CTO, the scope of the role is closer to that of a Country CIO, acting as the senior technology partner for the local business while balancing local priorities with the Group's global technology strategy.
Operating in more than 40 countries and serving millions of users worldwide, the company is looking for a business-oriented technology executive to lead the next phase of its technology evolution in Spain.
Success in this role will require balancing business priorities, technology transformation, operational excellence and Group governance while building strong relationships across local and international stakeholders.
As a member of the Executive Committee , you will report to the Regional CTO while acting as the key technology partner to the General Manager, CFO and Executive Committee, driving strategic transformation and aligning local business priorities with the Group technology strategy.
This is far more than a traditional CTO position. It combines business partnership, enterprise technology, operational excellence and organisational transformation within a complex multinational environment.
The role offers a unique combination of strategic influence, executive visibility and local decision‑making autonomy within a global technology organisation.
Key Responsibilities
a) Business Partnership & Technology Strategy
- Act as the trusted technology advisor to the General Manager and Executive Committee.
- Define and execute the technology strategy aligned with business objectives and Group priorities.
- Translate business needs into a pragmatic technology roadmap.
- Prioritise technology investments based on business value, customer impact and operational efficiency.
- Lead the technology transformation roadmap across Enterprise Applications,
Infrastructure and Cybersecurity.
- Drive cloud adoption, application modernisation and AI-enabled initiatives.
- Balance innovation with operational excellence while ensuring business continuity.
- Lead strategic business and technology transformation programmes.
c) Technology Operations
- Oversee Enterprise Applications, Infrastructure, Cybersecurity and Technology Operations.
- Ensure high availability, resilience and service excellence across all technology services.
- Lead vendor management and technology governance.
- Ensure technology supports business growth, customer experience and operational excellence.
Lead a technology organisation of approximately 20 professionals , organised across:
- Enterprise Applications
- Infrastructure
- Cybersecurity
- Business Processes
- Manage a balanced ecosystem of internal teams and strategic external partners.
- Develop leadership capabilities and foster a collaborative, customer‑focused culture.
- Own an annual technology budget of approximately €4M .
- Ensure strong financial discipline, investment prioritisation and cost optimisation.
First-Year Priorities
- Ensure continuity and stability across the Technology organisation.
- Support the Executive Committee in defining the 2027 technology roadmap.
- Complete the migration of core business systems to the cloud.
- Define and execute the application and enterprise architecture roadmap.
- Continue modernising the technology landscape while balancing innovation, legacy systems and operational excellence.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for a business-oriented technology executive , rather than a purely technical CTO.
You’ll bring:
- Significant experience leading technology organisations within multinational, matrix environments.
- Strong business partnering skills with Executive Committee exposure.
- Proven experience leading Enterprise Applications, Infrastructure, Cybersecurity and Technology Operations.
- A successful track record delivering technology transformation and organisational change.
- Experience managing technology budgets, strategic vendors and complex delivery portfolios.
- Excellent stakeholder management, influencing and prioritisation skills.
We are particularly interested in leaders who have operated in multinational, customer‑centric organisations where technology is a strategic enabler of the business. Experience within payments, fintech, SaaS, digital platforms, marketplaces, e‑commerce or other B2B environments will be highly valued, especially in roles involving close partnership with business leadership and balancing local priorities with global technology strategy.
