Location : Madrid Office
- Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with Group reporting timelines.
- Ensure the preparation of statutory and management financial statements in accordance with IFRS and local GAAP.
- Act as the subject matter expert on IFRS, providing guidance on complex accounting matters and new business initiatives.
- Prepare and document technical accounting assessments and accounting position papers.
- Ensure completeness and accuracy of balance sheet reconciliations and financial controls.
- Partner closely with Controlling, Consolidation, Treasury, and Business teams to ensure high-quality financial reporting.
Tax Management
- Own all corporate tax, indirect tax (VAT/GST), withholding tax, and other tax compliance obligations.
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation, review, and submission of tax returns.
- Manage relationships with external tax advisors and support the implementation of tax planning initiatives.
- Provide proactive tax advice on commercial agreements, business projects,
and corporate transactions.
- Support transfer pricing compliance and documentation in alignment with Group policies.
- Monitor changes in tax legislation and assess their impact on the business.
- Lead responses to tax audits, inspections, and inquiries from tax authorities
Audit, Governance & Risk
- Coordinate external and internal audits, ensuring efficient delivery of supporting documentation and analysis.
- Maintain a robust internal control environment across accounting and tax processes.
- Ensure compliance with corporate governance standards, internal policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior management on accounting, tax, and compliance matters.
Leadership & Stakeholder Management
- Management : people
- Lead, mentor, and develop accounting and finance team members where applicable.
- Collaborate with Group Finance and Group Tax teams to ensure alignment with corporate policies and strategic objectives.
- Support finance transformation initiatives and system enhancements
Education
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or related field.
- CPA, Chartered Accountant, ACCA, ACA, or equivalent qualification preferred
Professional Experience
- 12–15+ years of progressive experience in Accounting, Financial Reporting, and Tax.
- Previous experience within a Big 4 firm (Audit and/or Tax)
is highly preferred.
- Experience within a multinational environment is required.
- Strong exposure to IFRS reporting and complex accounting matters.
- Experience in Financial Services, Payments, Banking, Fintech, or other regulated industries is strongly preferred.
- Proven experience managing audits, tax compliance, and regulatory requirements.
Technical Skills
- Advanced knowledge of IFRS and local GAAP.
- Strong expertise in tax management
- Advanced ERP knowledge (Navision).
