ppAWS is set to introduce the inaugural European Sovereign Cloud (ESC), marking a significant development in Utility Computing. We are looking for experienced systems engineers with a strong background in cloud operations. As part of the AWS Managed Operations team, you will build and lead operations and development teams dedicated to delivering high‑availability AWS services, including EC2, S3, Dynamo, Lambda, and Bedrock, exclusively for EU customers. /p h3Responsibilities /h3 ul liOversee the launch of the ESC in 2025, working closely with global AWS teams. /li liCollaborate with technology leaders, enhance day‑to‑day operations, and improve availability, reliability, latency, performance, and efficiency of the ESC. /li liOperate and improve large software systems, review operational health, investigate anomalies, write actionable bug reports, and execute changes following a change‑management process. /li liResolve backlog of operational issues and develop scripts to expedite root‑cause analysis. /li liParticipate in on‑call rotations to resolve incidents out‑of‑hours. /li /ul h3Day in the Life /h3 pYou spend most of your time operating and improving one of the largest software systems.
