ph3Job Description /h3pAt Nextpower we are looking for a Commissioning Technician to provide comprehensive field technical support to our customers, with a focus on commissioning our products at the customers’ facilities, focusing on the southeastern countries of Europe. As a commissioning technician at Nextpower you will verify, test and energize our single‑axis tracker systems at utility‑scale photovoltaic sites across the EMEA region. You will be the final quality gate before mechanical completion is converted into an operational, data‑connected plant, ensuring every tracker row meets performance, safety and reliability standards. The selected person will satisfactorily commission the assigned sites, as well as provide best‑in‑class support to our customers including remote assistance, troubleshooting, firmware updates, and training, among others. The selected person has a customer‑oriented mindset with several years of experience in a similar role and a proactive attitude to help Nextpower’s existing fleet and rapid expansion. /ph3Responsibilities /h3ulliPerform detailed pre‑commissioning inspections on tracker rows, drive systems, power supplies and cabling. /liliExecute cold and hot commissioning, delivering periodic updates. /liliManage the commissioning process for customer acceptance. /liliProvide comprehensive technical support to Nextpower’s integral customers. /liliDiagnose and correct networking issues. /liliImplement tracker hardware and firmware retrofits in accordance with technical service bulletins, ensuring minimal disruption and full documentation of changes. /liliDeliver training sessions for EPC/OM personnel covering start‑up, stow, fault recovery and routine maintenance. /liliPrepare reports, service proposals and procedure manuals. /liliAdvocate on the voice of the customer when collaborating with internal teams on product‑related improvements.
/liliDeal with different customers/projects at the same time. /liliDeliver regular progress updates to management and customers, based on well‑found recommendations supported by data, evidence, and sound judgment. /li /ulh3Skills required /h3ulliB.S. in Engineering (Electrical, Industrial, Mechanical or equivalent) or related STEM field. /liliCustomer care skills and ability to effectively communicate resolutions for customer concerns. /liliAbility to interface and communicate with customers on a regular basis. /lili75% travel required. /liliExcellent verbal and written communication skills in English. /liliFive years of experience in a similar role. /liliAbility to work outdoors in varied weather. /liliMust be able to walk for most of the day while carrying tools. /liliExcellent customer service skills. /li /ulh3Preferred Qualifications /h3ulliStrong understanding of customer and technical support for utility‑scale and DG projects. /liliExtensive experience with commissioning solar tracking systems and various controls and network systems. /liliStrong knowledge of PV technology and its applications. /liliOther European languages, especially Spanish. /liliGood understanding of Microsoft Office. /liliPower generation troubleshooting. /li /ulh3About Nextpower /h3pAt Nextpower, we are driving the global energy transition with an integrated clean energy technology platform that combines intelligent structural, electrical, and digital solutions for utility‑scale power plants.
