We are not specifically looking for roboticists, but welcome any person with extensive production software experience who wants to work in a real-world robotics deployment. At our company, we specialise in developing tailored software solutions that enable our robots to execute inspection and maintenance tasks with precision and consistency. /p pThis is a senior, hands‑on software engineering role at the heart of cutting‑edge RD, mission frameworks, autonomous behaviours, obstacle avoidance, path planning and the application of modern AI techniques. You’ll work across the full lifecycle — from early development prototyping through to mission‑critical, production deployments. /p h3The Market Our Technology /h3 pANYbotics transforms industrial plants in the energy, process, and utility sector by introducing robotics to a wide range of novel applications that so far were beyond reach. Our customers are large asset operators and industrial service providers pioneering the use of robotics technology for inspection and maintenance. Our mobile robot ANYmal uses legs for extreme mobility in complex environments, camera- and LIDAR-based sensing for full autonomy and obstacle avoidance, and AI for high‑quality and consistent inspection results.
We develop numerous customised hardware systems, including the entire robotic platform, actuators, sensors, inspection payloads, charging systems, and all related ANYbotics electrical hardware. /p h3Your Contributions /h3 ul liContribute to the technical strategy and design for the autonomy software architecture, ensuring robots act transparently and reliably in complex environments /li liLead and develop core robotics algorithms to expand our autonomous operational envelope in challenging conditions /li liTriage customer issues, recognize trends, and rapidly make our system more resilient to failures observed in the field. /li liWrite, deploy, and maintain highly efficient C++ and Python software for the autonomy stack /li liServe as a mentor and collaborator, participating in architecture group activities and guiding junior engineers on algorithm design and best practices /li liEvaluate cutting‑edge algorithms and solutions to continuously push the boundaries of autonomous performance and system adaptability /li /ul h3Your Profile /h3 ul liUniversity degree in engineering or science with a focus on computer science,
electrical engineering or robotics /li liProven track record of shipping software to the field and maintaining those solutions over time /li liProven experience leading software architecture design and software engineering best practices /li liStrong contributor to technical strategy and mentoring of junior engineers /li liStrong understanding of autonomous systems, including: motion planning, state estimation, behaviour‑based control, path planning, mission planning execution /li liStrong knowledge of Linux systems, middleware frameworks and interfacing complex modules up and down the software stack /li liPragmatic and solution‑oriented mindset, working towards a goal and achieving outcomes /li liExcellent communication skills in English /li /ul h3Bonus Points /h3 ul liHands‑on experience with Reinforcement Learning (RL) and deployment of cutting‑edge AI/ML models /li liDevelopment of scalable and modular robot architectures with task execution frameworks such as Behavior Trees /li liExperience with ROS/ROS2 /li liExperience using robotic simulation tools such as Gazebo or Isaac Sim /li liInterest in agentic engineering toolchains /li liSuccessfully managed strategic partnerships with external engineering companies /li /ul pWe’re an international robotics company with the A‑team spread across the Globe.
