We are looking for a Business Intelligence Engineer to help set up and deliver robust, structured reporting, analytics, models, automations, and AI initiatives for the ship with Amazon vertical in Europe. You will be a key contributor to shaping our strategic innovation program by equipping the project teams with insights into operational performance. This role requires a detail-oriented professional proficient in SQL, DW, and Python, capable of solving challenging data, reporting, and automation challenges while communicating effectively across functional teams at regional and general levels. The position is based in Barcelona and reports to a Business Intelligence Manager. /p h3Key Responsibilities /h3 ul liDevelop analytical solutions to business problems that utilize the highest standards of analytical rigor and data integrity. /li liRecognize and adopt best practices in reporting and analysis: data integrity, test design, analysis, validation, and documentation. /li liWrite high-quality code to retrieve and analyze data. /li liAnalyze and solve business problems at their root, stepping back to understand the broader context. /li liDesign pragmatic analyses and automated metrics that add value to your business area. /li liUnderstand data resources and how, when, and what to use (and what not to use). /li liDevelop analyses (whether fully formed or exploratory) for the business’ sake, not for analyses’ sake. /li liSeek to understand the business objectives relevant to your area, align your work to those objectives, and deliver business value. /li liProactively and continually improve your level of knowledge about Amazon’s business and relevant data resources.
/li /ul h3A Day in the Life /h3 ul liAnalyze business requirements and translate them into technical requirements, supported by senior colleagues for integration into a working, stable, and scalable system. /li liRealize requirements independently for Business Intelligence and custom software development products. /li liCreate test cases and guide business stakeholders through the testing process. /li liPresent solutions and implemented features within weekly sync-ups with business stakeholders. /li liOwn maintenance and error handling of deployed solutions. /li liManage 1‑2 main projects in parallel, focusing on project delivery. /li /ul h3Basic Qualifications /h3 ul liExperience in analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL, etc. /li liExperience with data visualization using Tableau, QuickSight, or similar tools. /li liExperience with industry analytics visualization tools (e.g., Excel, Tableau, QuickSight, MicroStrategy, PowerBI) and statistical methods (e.g., t-test, Chi-squared). /li liExperience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Java, or R). /li liExperience with SQL. /li liExperience in the data/BI space. /li /ul h3Preferred Qualifications /h3 ul liMaster’s degree or advanced technical degree. /li liKnowledge of data modeling and data pipeline design. /li liExperience with statistical analysis and correlation analysis. /li /ul h3Equal Opportunity Employment /h3 pAmazon is an equal opportunities employer.
