ppLocation: in our offices in Madrid, on a hybrid working schedule (3 days/week in the office + 2 days/week working from home). /ph3About the role /h3pThe Public Affairs Manager, Spain, reporting to the Associate Director, Public Affairs Europe, plays a critical role in shaping Boston Scientific’s external positioning and advancing its policy and advocacy agenda within the Spanish health care landscape. This position contributes to creating a favorable policy and regulatory environment that expands patient access to Boston Scientific therapies and innovations. /ppThe Public Affairs Manager is responsible for developing and implementing public affairs strategies, monitoring and assessing policy developments, anticipating potential impacts and translating insights into clear, actionable recommendations that support business objectives. The role requires a proactive and strategic professional with a strong understanding of the Spanish health care system, health policy and related public policy areas. /ppThe selected candidate will lead engagement with policymakers, health care authorities, industry associations, patient organizations and other external stakeholders to help shape a favorable environment for medical innovation in Spain. The role also partners closely with internal stakeholders to advance policy engagement across market access, regulatory, digital and environmental policy priorities while ensuring Boston Scientific’s perspectives are effectively represented. /ppThe role is based in our offices in Madrid, Spain, on a hybrid working schedule (3 days/week in the office + 2 days/week working from home), with frequent travel within Spain and occasional travelling activities within Europe. /ph3Responsibilities /h3ulliDevelop and execute public affairs strategies aligned with business priorities and market access objectives. /liliMonitor, analyze, interpret and communicate legislative, regulatory and policy developments impacting the medical device sector in Spain. /liliIdentify emerging policy issues and assess their potential impact on the business. /liliBuild, prioritize and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across the Spanish health care ecosystem, including policymakers, health care authorities, industry associations, patient organizations and other relevant external stakeholders.



/liliRepresent Boston Scientific in industry working groups, trade associations and external forums. /liliDevelop policy positions, advocacy plans and stakeholder engagement strategies that support business objectives. /liliPrepare policy briefs, consultation responses, position papers and executive summaries for internal and external audiences. /liliCoordinate and align cross-functional stakeholders, including Public Affairs, Health Economics and Market Access (HEMA), Regulatory Affairs, Communications and business teams, to ensure consistent messaging and execution of advocacy strategies. /liliSupport senior leadership engagement with government officials and health care decision-makers. /liliEnsure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations and company policies related to public affairs and lobbying activities. /liliContribute to the broader Public Affairs strategy across Europe and support regional initiatives, including engagement with MedTech Europe as needed. /liliSupport public affairs reporting, metrics and internal communications. /liliMonitor policy trends and proactively identify opportunities to advance Boston Scientific’s advocacy priorities. /li /ulh3Qualifications /h3ulliMaster’s degree in public policy, political science, economics, law, health policy or a related field. /liliMinimum of 5 years' experience in public affairs, government affairs, public policy or advocacy within a trade association, life sciences company, consulting firm, agency or related organization. /liliStrong understanding of the Spanish legislative, regulatory and policy‑making environment. /liliDemonstrated ability to influence policy discussions and build trusted relationships with external stakeholders. /liliExperience developing and executing public affairs, advocacy or stakeholder engagement strategies. /liliStrong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate complex policy issues and translate them into actionable business recommendations.
