ppThis position is with the Global Strategic Communications Council (GSCC), a global network of communications professionals in the field of climate, energy and nature. GSCC is a programme hosted by the Meliore Foundation. /ppWe're hiring an experienced communications specialist to work alongside the GSCC Built Environment Team in a dynamic global network of strategic communications professionals in the field of climate and energy. The position is based in Spain, preferably Madrid or Barcelona. /ppReporting to the GSCC Built Environment Europe Manager, the Associate will implement strategic advice and actively craft and deliver communications assets to a diverse set of partners in order to enhance the public debate in Spain on housing decarbonization, energy efficiency, and climate solutions. They will also be expected to collaborate with the team in a strategic setting. /ppThe idóneo candidate will be growth-oriented and support the delivery of projects from the idea stage through to execution. Working closely with a supportive team, you will report to a manager to bring projects to life, balancing collaborative alignment with the ability to manage your assigned tasks effectively. /ppYou work well in a team-oriented environment and are comfortable managing day-to-day delivery under clear guidance. You have a strong baseline knowledge of the Spanish political and media landscape, including how national regulations and regional dynamics shape policies around housing, construction, or energy. You understand storytelling and how narratives can support momentum toward a fair and sustainable built environment. You are committed to using your communications skills to support the transition to energy-efficient homes and buildings across Spain. /ppThis is an open-ended position directly tied to specific project funding. The operational continuity of the role is contingent upon the renewal and ongoing availability of this dedicated funding stream. /ph3How you'll contribute /h3pIn close cooperation with a network of partners in Spain as well as colleagues in Spain and across Europe, the associate will be responsible for: /pullibOperationalizing communication strategies: /b Drafting and distributing a wide range of materials and actions, including press releases, press briefings, social media content, op-eds, blogs, and communication support during events.



/lilibCrafting targeted messaging: /b Developing audience-specific messaging to support both short-term and long-term campaign goals, ensuring consistency across platforms. /lilibDigital channel coordination: /b Collaborating with in-house digital specialists to help curate editorial content and run as well as advice on digital campaigns. /lilibMedia relations support: /b Fostering links with Spanish journalists covering climate, housing, and national affairs, helping brief reporters and boosting media awareness of core narratives. /lilibCampaigning /b: Supporting the implementation of agile campaign strategies across a range of channels, including earned media/PR, broadcast, social media, programmatic, digital-out-of-home, and influencer engagement. /lilibImpact monitoring: /b Keeping track of media mentions, monitoring outcomes, and contributing to tracking data to help improve future campaign activities. /lilibEvent coordination: /b Coordinating online or in-person events in Spain, helping with the initial concept and supporting delivery through to completion. /lilibSpokespeople cultivation: /b Identifying and elevating diverse voices and spokespeople who can talk convincingly about the benefits of better homes and buildings. /lilibPolitical and media tracking: /b Monitoring the political and media debates in Spain regarding building standards and energy efficiency to help identify where communications can be usefully deployed. /lilibReactive outreach: /b Delivering timely reactive communications support and outreach to national and regional partners. /liliAny other duties to be assigned from time to time /li /ulh3Our ideal candidate has /h3pTo succeed in this role, you will have the below qualities: /pulliAn enthusiasm to learn about complex, technical topics, such as building decarbonization, and help transform policy details into compelling narratives. /liliA good understanding of policy-making processes in Spain,
