Role Overview

Finom is looking for a Senior Analytics Engineer to join our newly formed and high‑performing Data Team. You will help build a modern, self‑service Data Platform on Databricks and enable faster, higher‑quality data‑driven decisions.

You will report to the Head of Data Platform and have the freedom to own data products and drive platform functionality independently.

What You Will Be Doing

- Develop the DWH core model that transforms raw Kafka topics into documented, easy‑to‑use data products for ML engineers, data analysts, and domain representatives.

- Collaborate closely with data engineers to develop our streaming ETL framework and improve its reliability and user experience.

- Help deliver new features and maintain existing ones in the OpenMetadata data catalog.

- Participate actively in data quality and governance tools and process implementations.

- Partner with data consumers across the business, supporting their daily data needs and turning requirements into reliable, well‑documented data products.

- Build and scale the Data Platform from scratch, addressing unique challenges.

Who You Are

-

- Experienced analyst or analytics engineer with data platform implementation projects.

- Excellent SQL for analytical tasks.

- Proficient in Python and PySpark.

- Comfortable with Git, ETL tools, or dbt.





- Experience building DWH models on modern platforms (Databricks, Spark, or dbt) and turning raw or streaming sources into consumable datasets.

- Understanding of streaming pipelines.

- Good at gathering requirements from stakeholders and translating them into technical solutions.

- High level of autonomy and self‑direction, able to work independently and take initiative.

- Background in banking or fintech is a strong plus.

First Six Months at Finom

First month: Learn our ETL framework, data governance principles, data platform architecture; learn our customer‑facing products and internal microservices; meet colleagues and stakeholders; deliver backlog data products.

First 3 months: Complete backlog cleanup, start supporting customers with daily data needs, contribute ideas for platform and governance enhancements.

First 6 months: Be recognized as a trusted data partner; own independent areas or expertise driving platform forward.
