We champion rigorous, reproducible and reusable computational research that advance the field from fundamental algorithm developments to large-scale applications.



The journal complements other Nature Portfolio titles including Nature Machine Intelligence, Nature Computational Science, Nature Communications, Scientific Reports, and the npj series. You will be responsible for selecting and developing manuscripts for publication and for promoting the journal’s coverage of computer science research. /p pFor this role, we particularly welcome candidates whose research experience includes ML algorithm development, computational social sciences, computational neuroscience, and/or computational linguistics. Experience on AI ethics and human-machine interaction is welcome but not necessary: these are relevant topics for modern AI research and for developing responsible publishing policies and guidelines. /p pThis is a fulltime, permanent position, based in the Shanghai, Beijing, Berlin, Madrid, Pune, or New Delhi office under a hybrid working model. /p pIf you are excited by interdisciplinary computer science and AI research, enjoy working across methodological and topical boundaries, and wish to contribute to shaping publishing in this area, we encourage you to apply. /p h3Role Responsibilities /h3 ul liMaking well-reasoned editorial decisions on submitted manuscripts in the light of expert advice, following the journal’s editorial policy and standards. /li liContribute developing editorial policies and guidelines for research involving AI and computational sciences, with a focus on open science. /li liMake accepted manuscripts accessible to a broad computer science readership by advising authors on titles, abstracts, introductions, and structure, as well as ensuring high overall reporting standards. /li liHelp recruit, support, and engage a team of external editors, guiding and assisting them with the tasks listed above and ensuring they understand and implement the journal’s philosophy and policies. /li liCommissioning various content including Reviews, Perspectives and Comment articles. /li liAttend conferences and meetings and visit research institutions (in agreement with the Chief Editor)



and report on these activities. /li liBroadcast published works by curating and suggesting publications for press releases or Research Highlights. /li liContribute editorial content to special projects or collections as agreed with the Chief Editor. /li /ul h3Experience, Skills Qualifications /h3 ul liPhD level research experience in machine learning, including algorithm development, computational social science, computational neuroscience, and/or computational linguistics. A strength in AI ethics and human-machine interaction is welcome but not necessary. Candidates from other AI-related disciplines areas, specially with clear ethical and policy relevance, are also welcome to apply. /li liEditorial experience, postdoctoral experience, and broad training will be an advantage but not an essential requirement. /li liA passion for science and a desire to learn more.
