This role will focus on delivering high‑quality operational support across core back‑office processes, with an initial emphasis on Payments Transactions and Investor Onboarding. /p pAs Unitas’s first hire in the Valencia office, which is already established and has more than 100 employees based there, the successful candidate will be expected to operate with a high degree of autonomy, taking ownership of their responsibilities while contributing to the establishment of a scalable and efficient local operations function. /p pThis role will report to the Head of Service who is a Director of Apex Unitas and is based in London and will initially have no direct reports but will eventually lead a team of junior employees in Valencia. /p pThe Senior Associate will have a large degree of collaboration with colleagues in London throughout the day. /p pThe position is full‑time, permanent and hybrid. /p h3Key Responsibilities /h3 ul liExecute end‑to‑end payment processes, including multi‑stage data extraction, validation, manipulation, and input across multiple systems in a timely manner, ensuring appropriate controls are followed throughout. /li liMaintain comprehensive supporting documentation for all payment activity,
ensuring auditability and adherence to internal procedures. /li liMonitor bank account activity, investigate breaks, and resolve transaction queries. /li liPerform detailed data processing across internal systems and banking platforms, ensuring accuracy and consistency of records. /li liSupport reporting of payment and transaction activity to clients, ensuring completeness and integrity of information. /li liRespond to client and internal queries relating to payments and transactions in a clear and professional manner. /li /ul h3Control Risk Awareness /h3 ul liMaintain awareness of regulatory requirements, ideally including the UK’s FCA client asset and money regulation. /li liEnsure adherence to internal policies, procedures, and control frameworks. /li liEscalate issues and risks in a timely and appropriate manner. /li /ul h3Team Build‑Out Contribution /h3 ul liOperate independently as the initial Valencia hire, demonstrating ownership and accountability. /li liSupport the development of processes and documentation to enable future team scaling. /li liProvide informal guidance and support to more junior team members as the local team grows (initially no formal management responsibility). /li liContribute to building a strong, collaborative team culture in Valencia. /li /ul h3Skills Experience /h3 ul liRelevant experience in financial services operations. /li liBackground in fund services, custody, or platform operations environments. /li liExperience working with financial services back‑office systems and workflows. /li liStrong understanding of payments and transactions processes within an operational setting. /li liAwareness of regulatory environments, ideally including FCA rules and client money requirements (CASS or equivalent). /li liAdvanced Excel skills, with the ability to analyse and manipulate operational data. /li /ul h3Key Competencies /h3 ul liAttention to detail: Consistently delivers accurate and high‑quality work.
