ph3Position Summary /h3 pThe department seeks qualified candidates to teach undergraduate courses in Geomatics Engineering, including but not limited to the following courses: /p ul liGME 15: Engineering Surveying (3 units, 3 WTU) /li liGME 15L: Engineering Surveying Laboratory (1 unit, 2 WTU) /li liGME 16: Municipal Surveying (3 units, 3 WTU) /li liGME 16L: Municipal Surveying Laboratory (1 unit, 2 WTU) /li liGME 40/40L: Route Construction and Surveying /li liGME 66L: Computer‑Aided Drafting (1 unit, 2 WTU) /li liGME 102: Remote Sensing (3 units, 3 WTU) /li liGME 123: Stereo Photogrammetry (3 units, 4 WTU) /li liGME 126: Digital Mapping (3 units, 4 WTU) /li liGME 159: Subdivision Design (3 units, 3 WTU) /li liOther courses as needed to fulfill students’ educational goals /li /ul h3Instructor Responsibilities /h3 pTemporary faculty members must adhere to university and system‑wide policies as directed in Academic Policy Manual 306, paragraph 2. Responsibilities include preparation, delivery, proctoring, and grading of lectures, office hours, homework, quizzes, projects, and exams. All classes must be offered as scheduled throughout the semester in the assigned mode (asynchronous, synchronous, in‑person, or hybrid). /p h3Conditional Appointment /h3 pAppointments are contingent upon budget and enrollment considerations and are subject to the collective bargaining agreement with the California Faculty Association. Faculty are assigned courses based on the “Order of Work,” beginning with tenure‑track faculty and ending with new lecturer appointees. /p h3Compensation /h3 pPay is commensurate with qualifications and experience within the CSU salary schedule (Class Code 2358). For a master's degree holder and full‑time (15 WTUs), the range is $5,507–$6,677 per month. Salaries are adjusted based on the number of WTUs assigned. /p h3Anticipated Semester /h3 pThe temporary faculty pool is continuously open and is filled as needed.
Positions vary each semester and are temporary, often made just before the term. /p ul liFall 2026: August 19, 2026 – December 22, 2026 /li liSpring 2027: January 15, 2027 – May 26, 2027 /li /ul h3Required Qualifications /h3 ul libEducation /b: MS in Civil Engineering, Geomatics Engineering, or a related field. Candidates with a BS may be considered if they meet required experience. /li libExperience /b: California Land Surveyor in Training (LSIT) license. /li libPreferred /b: California PLS; knowledge of drafting techniques, standards, tools, software, and equipment in land surveying; experience in planning, design, and construction staking; university‑level teaching experience. /li /ul h3Application Procedures /h3 pApplications are reviewed on a rolling basis as positions open.
